There was a thread on here the other day where a bunch of people said there is no ELO and from my understanding EA hasnt confirmed or denied it, leaving it open to debate. I think there 100% is skill based matchmaking unless someone has PROOF that there isnt.
I was slightly above. 500 season 1, closer to .600 season 2, and came out the gates hot season 3 winning almost 75% at the beginning of the season. The games I lost were all super close, disconnects, or the last game of the day when I wasnt locked in and just quit after a dumb play. I play about 3-6 games per day. Once I hit Hero III this season, all of a sudden I started getting matched with literal madden gods. Im talking god squads with crazy meta schemes every single game. I lost 5 in a row twice, losing on late FG's almost every single game. Still managed to win some games and im now sitting at like 55%.
Last night I matched with the #1 player in ranked h2h (hes #3 today), and today I got matched with the #2 ranked player. I had #1 in 4th and 15 on his first drive and blew it on a crazy play where Cooper Kupp broke a tackle and made a guy miss to get the first. I couldn't do a single thing on offense because of instant pressure. Ended up quitting at half down 21-0. I re-watchd the game and made some adjustments. Then today I was up 14-0 against the #2 ranked player and ended up losing 23-25 on a last second fg. He is really freaking good. But I was proud that I was able to hang and keep it close. If only I had gotten a pick 6 and not a pick 2.. lol
TLDR; If there is no ELO then I should be getting matched up with some shitty players here and there. Out if my last 20 games there have been ZERO games where the opponent was bad. All of then were meta teams with meta schemes, and nasty stick work. As I am getting better so is my competition. Its pretty obvious, at least to me..
