Are y'all upgrading him all the way or not doing the final step? He loses like 7 PWM and PRC for +SPD, agility and FNM. Doesn't seem worth it to me.
If it wasn't -7pmv I would do it cuz I don't think awr and prc are important for pass rushing. But I like it more when pmv and fmv are 90+

I agree, the -7 PMV is the biggest deterrent.
Power moves are more important for run stopping, so if you're playing Carter on the edge I think FMV and SPD are probably more important. I'm not sure if you've heard, but STAMINA is the new "pass rush points" and "blocker resistance points." So if you can, pick up that +5 STA purple strat.
Back to Carter, if he is a 3-down lineman for you, maybe stick with the first upgrade.
Since he does not fit my TT and I am ony using him on the edge for passing downs, I am upgrading him all the way. His attributes on my team: 92 SPD, 97 ACC, 95 AGI, 90 COD, 96 FMV, 96 IMP, 92 BSH, 96 STA.
I haven't played much since making the change, but I will report back to lyk how he is playing.

"Power moves are more important for run stopping"
I believe this to be a false narrative. PMV and FMV are both pass rushing ONLY attributes. If you're looking at run defense it's BSH first and Strength second.
I did not upgrade Carter because having both PMV and FMV over 90 was more important to me.

It's not a false narrative, granted it is more nuanced than I put it.
Since we do not have a lot of information regarding player traits this year, we do not have a lot to go on. However, Abdul Carter is a speed rusher with low strength, so his bull rush moves are not likely to win often. Instead, on my team, his SPD (92), ACC (97) , AGI (95) and FMV (96) make him look (on paper) to be a perfect speed/ finesse move pass rusher.
PMV and FMV ratings, to my understanding, really only determine what swim/rip/club/spin pass rush move animations will trigger.
Strength and blockshed force multiply either, but are more important for power rushers needing to bull rush an opponent.
Historically, power moves also factored into the run game more, since it involved a run blockshed win. Iirc in the past, finesse moves did not factor in to run blocking wins. This may be different in '26 and please correct me if I'm wrong.

I guess we agree to disagree:
- Pass Rush Only: PMV (and its counterpart, Finesse Moves or FMV) are used exclusively in pass rush situations. The Block Shedding (BSH) stat, by contrast, is used for run defense situations.
and an updated more detailed analysis of BSH:
Block Shedding determines how effectively a defensive player (such as a defensive lineman or linebacker) can disengage from an offensive player's block to pursue the ball carrier or the quarterback.
Key points about the BSH stat:
- Run Defense: BSH is particularly important for stopping the run. When an offensive lineman engages a defender, the defender's BSH rating is used to determine how quickly they can get past the blocker and make a play.
- Pass Rush (Secondary Use): While the primary pass-rush attributes are Power Moves (PMV) and Finesse Moves (FMV), BSH is still relevant in all situations where a defender is engaged in a block.
- Positional Importance: This stat is essential for defensive tackles (DT), defensive ends (DE), and outside linebackers (LOLB/ROLB).
- Counter-Stat: BSH is primarily countered by the offensive lineman's Run Block (RBK) and Run Block Strength (RBS) ratings.
