One of the most powerful tools we offer at MUT.GG is our database, but many members only use a fraction of its capabilities. In this thread, we will cover some lesser-known but very useful ways to search our MUT database.

Searching and Filtering

If you know exactly which player you want to find, search for a player’s full or partial name to find every version of that player. But what happens when you don’t know the exact player you’re looking for? That’s where the various filtering options in our database come in clutch. Using multiple filters in the same search will help narrow down results until you find exactly what you’re looking for. Let’s take a look at some filtering options below:

  • Program - If you’re interested in players from a specific program in MUT, use this option to focus on just one program.
  • Archetype - This search option was far more valuable when abilities had different AP costs for different archetypes, but if there’s a specific archetype you’re looking for, this is how you can easily find it.
  • Price - Working with a budget? Search with a maximum and/or minimum price to focus on players within your price range.
  • Chemistry - Use this filter to narrow searches down to players that can equip the team or program chemistry you’re using. This is a useful filter to add to searches for anyone building a theme team.
  • Abilities - Looking for players who can equip a certain ability? Pick your ability and set a range for AP cost (optional) to find all players with that specific ability and cost. Selecting more than one ability in a search will return all players who can equip all of those abilities at the same time!
  • Position - If you’re looking for a specific position (or positions), select all that apply with the position filter to narrow down search results.
  • Custom Filters - Finally, we get to some of my personal favorites in custom filters.
    • Ratings - If you’re looking for a QB with at least 90 THP, or any other rating, this is where it’s done. Choose your rating and input a minimum number to display all players that match your criteria. It is important to note what each symbol means when inputting a numerical value. Let’s take a look at what each symbol would return if we wanted to search for players with 90 SPD:
      • “>” returns all players with greater than 90 SPD (91 and up)
      • “>=” returns all players with greater than or equal to 90 SPD (90 and up)
      • “=” returns all players with exactly 90 SPD
      • “<” returns all players with less than 90 SPD (89 and lower)
      • “<=” returns all players with less than or equal to 90 SPD (90 and lower)
    • Height/Weight - Do you need a tall WR/TE? What about a heavy offensive lineman? Set your minimum height (in inches) or weight (in pounds) to see all players that meet your desired physical criteria.
    • Limited Edition - Looking for a cheap LTD rental? Set the “Limited Edition” filter to “Yes” to see all items that quicksell for Coins. Do you want to remove all LTDs from your searches? Set the filter to “No”.
    • Motivator Chemistry - Some player items in MUT come with Motivator Chemistry, which boosts some ratings for other players in your lineup. To view all players with Motivator Chemistry, set this filter to “Yes”. To view the player item’s boosts and who they apply to, open the player’s page and read “Notes from MUT.GG”.
    • Weekly Spotlight Set Reward - This filter displays all player items currently available in the Fantasy Packs rewarded for exchanging 25x Weekly Spotlight Tokens. Use this filter to help make your decision before redeeming your hard-earned tokens on a program (TOTW, Legends, Collector’s Series).

Sorting

Once you’ve filtered a search with your desired criteria, sort the results to show the most relevant results at the top of the list. Sorting options include height, weight, price, release date, or any player rating, including speed and OVR. Sorts can be organized from low to high, or high to low by switching the arrow next to your desired sort option.
