Switch Stick/Playmaker

As a older madden player, I'm used to using the B button (xbox) to switch players on defense and playmaker is a little new to me.

I know "switch stick" was implemented within the last couple of years. Is this the replacement for the old B-button mechanic? If so, can someone explain how it's supposed to work? It seems as though when I flick the RS to switch, it doesn't do it. Also, if I use B, it only switches to the right player 1/5 times.

Also, can someone explain how to use the QB Playmaker ability? I thought you had to hold LT (L1 on playstation) and then either LS or RS in the direction you want your hot route receiver to move. I've tried that and it doesn't seem to work 95% of the time for me.

I can totally just be an unc now, but any support would be appreciated.

i'm Xbox so what I say may be slightly different. Before the snap, you can use the B button to switch by moving the left stick towards the player you want to switch too. After the snap is when you use Switch Stick, and you flick it towards the player you want to switch too compared to where the player you are is. Example being your on the right, want to switch to guy on left, you flick the stick to the left. If you want to switch to pass rushing, you press B during the play. ALSO If you get stuck on a Lineman and want to cover, your best bet is pressing up on the D-Pad to get on someone covering.

Playmaker: To use this you Hold the Left trigger, not the bumper, and flick the Right stick in the direction you want a player to go.
