How TF do you stop 5 wide

played a hell game vs a 5 wide demon in gauntlet. couldn't stop him if my life depended on it (I did get cheated once but that's besides the point). My dumbass tried to force a stupid pass on the opening drive and it gets picked. then we just start going TD for TD until he scores with 9 seconds left in the 2nd quarter to go up 28-21 and he gets ball at half. I quit bc I knew that 2nd half would be a waste of my time.

He beat me in my main Cover 4 out of nickel single mug, beat me in dime normal cover 2 man, and beat me in nickel wide cover 3 and cover 4 match. he would either hit a streak, short drag/zig, or have a crosser wide open in the middle of the field. my pressure barely go in too because he had 2 post ups basically shutting down my DoNs. I was hopeless and look like a JV team trying to stop the Burrow lead LSU Tigers.

so if you play me (rxb999 on Xbox) just run 5 wide, you will fry me

Verticals out of 5 wide is tough to stop.. they will run away from man, and go straight through zone. Defense has gotta get patched.

it wasn't even verts. he TE was often on a stutter post, slot usually on a drag or zig, outside WRs usually on streaks, and the inside WR on the 2 receiver side would either be on a zig or deep crosser.

Been  running Empty Trey out of Run n Gun PB for about a month now and haven’t played too many guys that were able to lock it up. The guys that have gotten stops just resorted to cover 2 man shaded down to take away curls and stemmed up C routes then just prayed that I made a bad read (I probably did). Haven’t really struggled vs zone or match, and any type of man with no help over top is food. Think defense just needs a patch honestly.

Best thing you can do is play bend but dont break defenze and then stop them in the redzone once there isnt as much space

he killed me in the RedZone too

i love running 5 wide :) its fun and really effective, especially with the abundance of REALLY good free WRs this year

Quarters cover 1 thief works  for me. I have to manually move my sub lb to the hb then user the fs to bring them a few yards over center. Once play begins I hover underneath taking away  short passes meanwhile my dbs hol  up enough for a coverage sack or incomplete pass. That's what I do to stop 5 wide

Ran into the same thing and cover 2 man shaded down inside has done wonders for me.
