Man defense - ‘good’ players or a cop out for ‘trash’ players

What’s the community’s take on players who only use man defense in MUT? Are they just leaning on man coverage because they struggle with zone? Once you master man defense, does it feel like a cheat code against most online opponents? Curious to hear your thoughts!

Doesn't matter either way. If people have issues with others playing man, that's their problem. Zone isn't the only way to go.

Zones are broke big time, man is a little better.

I'll actually answer your question. In general, I consider someone who leans on man to be a lesser quality opponent. But to be fair, I don't think highly of any "cheat code" defense that bypasses football logic and principles

Yes, I agree!

My preference is to mainly play zone with some man mixed in here and there. I give up tons of yards until they get into the redzone where the zones dont get stretched as much and the windows get much tighter.  I get a lot of picks in the redzone.

I've started blitzing like crazy, so I run a lot of man. I usually only run zone on very long yardage plays and in the red zone.

Man has a TON of flaws that can be exploited

On Crossers, you have a good change for your DBs to get tangled up...same with Bunch

Won’t matter if def abilities only work half the time or when they want

I used to never run man, but I learned about bracket switch and use it a lot now! It’s like zone rules where if your assignment runs another route your free to poach other routes

Users who complain about Man Coverage don’t understand football. That said, I hate that at this point in the game, CPU-controlled players in zone coverage fail to react on too many plays. Zone coverage often gives up yardage when defenders are in position to make a play. Bad algorithms result in dumb play.

I wish I knew how to run man. Everytime I run man I get torched. I usually just come out in the same defensive shell and then audible my coverage a little based on the play and man up players that I know are likely to get targeted. I just can’t run full man coverage lol
