They are far too effective when compared to what they should be able to do. There is zero leverage once you are airborne, and when diving from a distance, your velocity slows so rapidly that you have little physical effect on another object when you reach it.

Madden has never been based on real-life physics, so of course none of this applies and your players can carry all their momentum into a 10 foot Superman dive and instantly bring your opponent to the ground.
