It’s their terms of service that will control any filing. I have not read yet this year but in past years there has been terms highly favorable to EA and mandatory arbitration.

Happy to look at them if someone cares to post and share my thoughts. Class action would be the best.

But Slayin told me he was able to get his ban overturned. Idk if it was from the letter or from his reach as a MUT influencer and twitter, but theres gotta be a shot. Class actions take years.

Always better to buy coins from like mcs reddit - than giving ea money via packs - you'll get more coins for cheaper and no bans

I had a similar experience, (I think it was during madden 24) right around the time the VIP Program was rolled out , but was able to get in contact with the guy who I have direct contact through the program with and he got it resolved basically next business day, idk if you’re part of the program, or if we can even still call the people, but that’s how I handled it a couple years ago

If you recently got banned, like a lot do people did this past week due to prices doubling on crystal cards it should be reversed in a few days (hopefully). Their algorithm now automatically bans you if you buy and then resell cards for much much more, a few people I know have been banned then unbanned. EA customer support is basically non existent. Hope the best for you, EA is notorious for being an awful company when it comes to their clients

In my experience once banned that’s all she wrote 99% of the time no matter what you do. Have to make a new account or continue to play without an auction house. If you are one to make high volume buys and sells you might want to stop now.  You can thank the coin sellers for the reason the algorithm is there.

Feel like Lina Khan with another term in the FTC we might have a shot. She took on Sunday ticket price gouging, that’s semi adjacent. Doubt whoever is in that role now gives a rats ass.

In certain states, their policy violates consumer protection laws, such as Colorado- by not giving you access to your data after an alleged ban.  Hope this helps everyone

Thanks for the heads up. Im still torn on what my next move is. What EA did was blatantly foul but also taking legal action is something im unused to doing. Just mulling over it all.

Good day

Unfortunately if you don’t get the issue, resolved, then you lost money and if you honestly did nothing wrong, I would consider looking at a small claims case . I wouldn’t walk away after getting shafted out of $1800

I can only suspect that there is some sort of algorithm that triggers at a large number of AH moves...even if those moves are within current pricing.  You would think a company as large as EA could come up with something a little better than this.  I'm confident they (EA) know exactly how much money you have spent (I'll even bet they have a record (or could have if they put their mind to it) of every card you have bought and sold with that money you spent)...it would seem a quick look at the electronic record would show how much you spent and the pattern of your selling (TT and selling at going rate) which should have cleared everything up.  Based on how much you have spent EA should have done this behind the scenes so you never even knew the algorithm flagged you and they were looking at your AH history. The AH seems to almost always be the common issue...they encourage you to build sets, but if you buy and/or sell to much (work the AH that they put in the game) folks get hit.  Long way of me saying...sorry this happened to you and I hope you get fixed...I respect your positive attitude and hope everything works out.

“I'm confident they (EA) know exactly how much money you have spent (I'll even bet they have a record)” — I’m sure you’re right. Hmm, what kind of establishment does that sound like?

Maybe ask them for the DSAR if you want proof? I saw another guy in a thread talking about looking up "EA FC DSAR ban" in reddit or something. Apparently the soccer dudes know their stuff. Pretty sure you can use the DSAR to get transaction history stored by them if you want proof. Not too sure though, best of luck man.

They been doing this since 2020 I got hit two years in a row and funny thing is it's around this time too n all I was doing was selling everything I got from my $100 bundles, (open all 5) I got my account back both times but one time it took a whole month

Thanks man. As a genuine procrastinator I really want to be easy going about this, but off of principle and how unjust the situation is, I feel ilike off of principle alone I need to take this to the next level of escalation. Which sucks because its more time and money.

I got banned at the end of m23 unjustly for making to many coins about 50 mil in a few days working the market. I boycotted m24. Luckily I didn't spend very much money but it's still the point. They also said I was buying from a third party and I wasn't. I could barely pay the bills back then let alone spend money on a video game.

I started this MUT season a bit naive. I’ll spend money, like REALLY spend money on the game, and enjoy the full experience. I wont be a budget player, who I want, I’ll buy. Before August ended I had spent around $1800.

Before people start talking about my personal decisions, I spent the better part of 2024 living with about half of my income and saved / invested a lot of money. My investments 4xed. I had (still have) money in excess. Its besides the point.

Anyways I had a lot of coins. And I also wanted to have fun while winning alot. So I made 4 TTs but only one of them at a time would have expensive players. I sold and bought a lot of players based off of the current market prices at the time of transaction. This somehow triggered a “ban” where EA took all of my coins. I have sent 4 separate appeals all being denied while EA says they WONT explain their actions against my account. Almost like a “trust me bro, you’re guilty” sentiment in their response emails.

At the end of the day, every transaction was based off of the sell now price at the time. I had ZERO activity with a 3rd party to obtain my coins. In a way, EA literally stole from me. Flat out. I am actually considering legal action (similar to what Slayin on YT is doing) because this was foul.

So, hopefully this serves as a precautionary tale for others that want to freely spend their coins.

**if anyone has experience successfully overturning wrongful bans please comment because I’m willing to go the extra mile to resolve this** thanks.

Uggh, surely you'll get the random clowns pointing the finger, insisting YOU broke the rules and you'll "get what you deserve."  So stupid to blame the victim, but whatever.  I've been there, more than once.  I haven't spent $1800 in a ~month on Madden before, but yes i've spent that in a game year.

Right now you have two options, neither of which are ideal (maybe three, but only two directly involve this once great and storied video game franchise):

  1. Basically give up and start a new account
  2. Attempt to navigate EA Legal and hope they respond in the next 60-90 days, but it will NOT be a quick process
  3. Simply move on with your life, try to forget about EA games

Regardless what you do, please stop wasting your precious time with EA no-Help.  They are less than worthless and will maybe offer to "investigate" only to determine that EA has done nothing wrong, there will be no overturn, blah blah blah.

If you wish to attempt to have your ban overturned, it will require drafting and sending a Certified Letter (ideally with delivery confirmation) to EA Legal.  I am not an attorney, so i am defnitely not qualified to provide any type of advice here, however this is the form letter i used to get my prior ban successfully overturned.  Go nuts, clone the document and make your own version, with your personal info; EA account, etc.  Please let me know any questions.  Should cost roughly $6 USD to send the letter.  Some folks use UPS/FedEx, but i chose the cheapest path.  This will potentially take months to resolve, so hunker down.

Nobody really knows what specific auction house actions will trigger a ban hammer, but they seem to go out in waves.  Good luck, man.  So sorry to hear this has now happened to you.  I've only been unretired since M22 and didn't dive into MUT until M23, yet in that short time i've been banned multiple times.  Start by inspecting your account history within EA and take it from there.
