NMS vs MS

The point of playing a video game is to enjoy it.
In my opinion, both sides of MS/NMS do not enjoy the game at all once they have become extremists in either category. If you spent thousands of dollars this month I can guarantee you there is no reward worth that amount. And the same goes to someone who spent hundreds of hours trying to keep up with the money spenders all whilst claiming to be more true than the money spenders. Guess what, you also lost the enjoyment in the game because of your obsession with staying “competitive” when the rewards for doing so only allow you to chase that constant state of competitiveness and nothing else. Winning a match gives you nothing of value. Stacking coins is useless. The whole point is to enjoy your time playing and this is often overshadowed by new releases and objectives. But I digress.

It is rather disgusting the way it is set up, where EA has convinced users that they “need” the updated cards throughout the season. For example, I like John Elway. I can buy his 77 ovr card and put it on my team for a measly amount of coins. Then I get the novelty of using one of my favorite players, despite it being a nameplate on a virtual character which barely matches his likeness. But his 85 ovr card throws better passes and runs faster. So I’m forced to cough up 200k coins. How I get these coins is up to me. And it is nearly impossible to enjoy this journey without sacrificing money or time, as it is in no way “fun” to “earn” this content and the reward of receiving it often does not result in a positive emotion.

ok… Back to one sentence replies for me 😅

There are 2 currencies in any game today, time and money.  Either way you are spending money since time is money.

They should add another category

NMS vs Time Spent

I mean...you can be NMS but spent hours/days grinding boring events to make coins

When at the same time, you can use that time to make money in the real world and then buy packs

Anyone who puts NMS in their username or brags about being NMS is trying to compensate for something

Maybe theyre jealous of people who have money to spend on a game

fine, I will bite

I spend money because

I am 38 married with 2 kids

my son plays with me

still considerably less than what I spend on golf/fan duel etc

I have disposable income

I dont have time nor want to grind for cards

Exactly bro. I dont have time to dedicate my life to madden. I rather drop a couple hundred bucks and have a great time playing h2h

Doesn’t this seem wrong to you though? That in order for you to enjoy a game you have already spent a hundred bucks on, you HAVE to spend money. The more I think about it, the more even playing the game turns me off.

Lol dawg what the hell kind of logic is this?!

That’s like being like, “I pay mortgage on my house but I built a fort in my backyard and don’t have to pay any money to camp out in that”

Exactly lmao. Dude is trying to come off as cool NMS but totally fabricated it all to feel good.

Hilarious!

People claiming that people who are NMS are brokies who are mad at the rich kids...LOL you're joking right? Premium pass...20 dollars. Platinum packs...30 dollars (4 steps). W Fantasy pack (level "reward") 28 dollars.

Uh, what exactly is this thing that we somehow can't afford? The most expensive thing in MUT is the Crystal Set that cost 250 dollars. Anyone with a job can afford that. Hell, some people on government assistance can afford that.

Now if you're the type of guy to buy the 20 packs over and over and over...You're not rich, your just a gambler.

And if you're the type of guy to spend 250 dollars (more than the max package for Madden and CFB combined) for 3 virtual cards that will you'll be struggling to keep in your lineup for the boosts in 30 days. You're not rich, you're an idiot.

I'm NMS not because of pretentiousness or lack of finances, but because I genuinely don't see the point. I'm better than most players (H2H Legend and just outside top 100) nomatter who is in my lineup. IMO, it defeats the purpose of the game mode. If I can just buy the cards, what AM I PLAYING FOR?

Yep. Im a surgery radiology tech and make 6 figures (just barely). Im not spending money on packs. Waste of money... PERIOD

How old are you? Do you work 55 hours a week? Do you have kids and a family?

I dont have time to grind bro. I got like 1-2 hours a day to play. If I didnt spend money my team would be shit and I couldn't even compete. The little time I have im trying to play h2h not grinding vs the cpu.

You have to put a value on your own time. How much is your free time worth? $1, $10, $50 or $100 per hour? Id say people who grind this game 30 hours a week are spending more on the game than I am. They are just paying with their free time where I pay with disposable income. I got a family man, I dont have time to grind.  If I didnt spend the money I wouldn't even play because my team would be dogshit.

I’m 44, I’m Chief Operating Officer for 7 healthcare companies in the UK. I have a six figure salary and work 60 hours a week. BUT I do spend a lot of time in hotels and always take my play station with me so I guess I do have time to kill. I don’t play at weekends, that’s my family time.

Well that makes perfect sense then. If I had a lot of downtime Id do the same. Im an account manager in the US for a large fire protection company. 6 figures. Actually, a lot of my accounts are Healthcare customers. I have a 2 year old a newborn, so I have almost no time to play haha.

I hear you. My kids are a bit older now, 11 and 13. So they are less of a hand full!
