The card market is in free fall. Will it recover??
Will the card market recover??
There is no "recover" as unlike the stock market...the cards hold no value and depreciate with no reason to bounce back. Yes one can make coin by buying LTDs when they are released and selling them when they are out of packs (supply and demand), but...unless you are gambling with the highest end cards there is no reason for an 83 to bounce up when 86s are out there. The market will at some point be down to about 1:1...so I tend to not tie up a ton of capital (coins) sitting on lower cards waiting (hope) for a market bump.
Yeah, it will rebound. However, it will not recover completely to the prices it was before Wednesday. The 85's everyone was getting for 120k should be back up to 180-200k this weekend for mcs.
It's not necessarily because of that cam little pack that crashed. Those kinds of things typically lower the market for a day or 2. The biggest reason is due to the overall bump. A lot of mut players are chasing that higher overall. More 86's come to market and 85's will be less valuable. Champions typically sit in that 300-400k range so the previous 85's that were there would be knocked down a pricing tier anyways.
EA seeds the Auction House with items, and the algorithm that determines pricing in each listing is pegged to the current minimum cost per training value, and that value is adjusted with each OVR increase. It is EA’s flooding of the market with inventory that pushes prices downward, and it takes extraordinary market demand to push prices upward toward previous average sales prices by OVR.
