Secondary SAM chems still messed up?

I'm tweaking secondary positions to hit 50 Eagles, and recall reading last week that setting SAM alternate position doesn't register a chem boost when player slots in at SAM, but if given WILL alternate and slotting in at SAM they get the chem boost?

Is it still messed up or did they fix? Don't want to waste 50 precious training.
