Ok so I’ve been vocally skeptical about the chem boosts and whether they are real or just cosmetic to make us ‘think’ that we are getting boosts. It’s hard to test most of them but the easy one is speed and acc. So I thought I’d test it.
Now I have a 53/60 Saints TT so my players should have plus 2 speed and plus 1 acceleration.
I used Marshon Lynch as the test. I put the ball on my one yard line, removed the defense, snapped it, took him past the LOS and timed him running from the 5 yard line to the end zone. Then I did the same removing his Saints chem.
Here are the results:
With chem:
- 9.91 s
- 9.88 s
- 9.93 s
Without chem:
- 10.11 s
- 10.08 s
- 10.08 s
So, yes, the speed boost is real!
But, at most in those tests it was 0.23 s over 95 yards, so it really is minimal.
However, this was plus 2 speed plus 1 acceleration, so it will be slightly higher with plus 3.
