I bought the game to play h2h ranked, thats it. Not to complete sets, not to spend hours and hours playing the auction house. I dont have time for all that. I want to log in and PLAY MADDEN. I dropped about $500 on the game so far and I love it. My teams isn't even great, but at least I am competitive in ranked h2h.

EVERYONE spends money in their own way. Whether we think it's stupid or not. It doesn't matter if everyone else thinks it's a waste if it's not to YOU then fuck em. Do what you want and not care about anyone else's opinion. SKOL!!!

I agree to a point, but if you or anybody else decides to spend money on packs then don’t moan about the state of the game, cos the reason they feel no need to fix the game is cos they are making too much money.

Also, it’s a new generation thing, people want instant gratification and rewards these days. The fun of the game used to be the grind and building a team.

I don't complain about the game. I actually really love this years version. As far as people spending money you know it is kind of an essential thing for the NMS players. The game need people introducing these new cards to the game. If no one spent money the cards would be astronomically higher in price due to the shortage. Big spenders help us, the no money or very low money, players actually obtain these cards. Look at PC prices. Way less players and the cards can be double the price. I agree with you about instant gratification. I enjoy the grind and team building that's why I play. I'm not good h2h but love everything else. Also have to remember this game demographic is much higher than the standard video games. Way more adults play and don't have a ton of time to grind when we have real life shit to deal with. Plus adults have more money than kids. Think about all the stuff you wanted as a kid but couldn't and then you hit adulthood with adult money and you can have some of those things.

Most are kids that don't work or maybe they do but for little money and its not even near the budget. So they have no choice but to hop on the nms band wagon. Which i like to call time spent lol. For me, time = money and that means my time is more valuable. I dont have time to be on this game or AH 24-7.  Ive always found it weird people use that title.  time=money  And i know theirs plenty of people with money that flat out dont buy packs for whatever reason. No worries the boys and i will flood the AH for ya

But to offer a different perspective that might explain the hate you might feel - there was a time not so long ago when the only purchase you needed to make was the game.  Even if you did want to pour in money to make up for your subpar skills, it wasn't an option.  You lived and died by your own stick skills and decision making. 

 I'd argue there are folks who spend inordinate amounts and it doesn't help them one bit.  There are others that have to rely on their superior teams and would be mediocre to terrible without them.  Again, no shade on your financial decisions, but there are some who wish it was a completely balanced playing field and true skill dictated the outcomes.

Trust me, I remember the days where we only paid one price for the game. Like you said those days are over.

I used to have time to grind to get who I wanted. But now being older with a career and a family, its nice to be able to have a good team without spending multiple hours everyday grinding. It obviously comes at a cost, but to me its worth it.

its not that simple.  there shouldn't be judgment either way.  some people are very efficient at being NMS like myself and can make millions of coins a week just from passive investing and a few hundred k per hour making sets in betwen playing or doing other work.  some people would rather not use their time to generate coins which is fine, and to them the value proposition is there for them to spend money.  we all pay in some form to get the coins we want, and those coins each have value that we attribute to them, either with our time or our money.  too many people on here judge one way or the other, but at the end of the day, anyone with a lot of coins invested time or money into this game to get them.  we are all the same in terms of putting a value on having coins in this game, but what cost we are willing to spend is a personal choice.  all of you making judgments of others are the problem.  everyone does it there own way, but anyone with coins has spent something of value to get those coins.

i often make posts to educate those who think it's impossible to have coins and be NMS without being a troll on this game 24/7.  too many just don't understand how easy it is to make coins quickly.  once you do, the proposition of being NMS is much easier bc you can make coins very quickly and easily.

Time is money 

People who can only play a few hours a week  but have good careers have no problems spending money and actually their time to money/coin ratio is wayyyyy better than the “grinders”, sadly

You could grind for 30hours a week but the guy who forks over a good hours pay every week will have more coins in most cases

This is agree with, whether you spend to be competitive, to content create or just for the h*ll of it. So what ? Do what makes you happy and stop worrying about other players do😂? Every year the nms guys talk junk and complain about others spending money. The topic is old and dry.

But you want to play with something else than normal rosters.

So you play MUT ranked, where everyone else has spent $500. It’s the same thing as regs, you are just playing for an even playing field when you don’t need to. All the rewards in MUT, after you pay, you’ll be facing the same rewards against you.

I don’t get the point. There isn’t a justification you can make outside comp play or content creation. That’s it.

I spend money to build a fun team for me and the boys to enjoy in squads. Franchise mode is awful and we enjoy the fantasy aspect. EA didn’t ’get us’, we made a conscious decision to drop some duckets on the cards we want instead of grinding for them. If we wanted to grind for top gear, we would go play an mmo.
