Looking at some of the cards that play really well, I’m 100% convinced the only things that matter are physical attributes and abilities. By physical I mean:
- Speed
- Acceleration
- Strength
- Weight
- Height
They influence the player model and how that player performs in animations and player duels. And of course the abilities then take it to another level.
Look at the cards that play really well:
- Barno at edge - fast, 6 foot 6 player model, terrible FNM and PWM but sacks for days
- Tuten at HB - fast, smaller player model at 5 9 making him shifty, terrible carry but doesn’t fumble
- Cross at safety, fast fast fast,
- Thornton at WR - fast, 6 5, shit catching but catches everything
- Porter at CB - fast, tall, terrible coverage stats but picks for days
Then you have the ‘fat 5’ theory from previous years - strength and weight for linemen - speed if you want them to pull.
It’s all physicals. This game is not that complicated programming wise, it’s a series of RNG and animations. The other stats are meaningless.
Some years back I built a team of ultimate legends, not the top cards but the physical ones, they had cheap cards that were fast or strong etc, and it played lights out.
