Do they just play H2H with core players - making miminal coins or trying to work the very scarce auction house?
I think last year, there was some preseason players released but not really many solos or other promos?
I didnt preorder last year and by the 1st legend release,, was able to get competely caught up with the Legends and Season of Boom players - by sniping the auctioh house and flipping sets
The lack of a price floor made snipping a little more challenging, but i still did OK

Just stack coins. It’s not even worth playing H2H in my opinion. Just sell cards, play the solos and objectives, perhaps some solo battles or solo seasons if they are available. Just STACK COINS!
Open bundles, set up the team, stack coins, watch the auction house for changes grind solos and some h2h if you get a good feel for your team
Stack coins and play ALL of the objectives.
Spend 1500 points of the 4600 on the season 1 pass and grind out Objectives,solos and any and all the free players you can get and 100% save coins
Spending an extra weeks worth of money on madden and being a free beta tester

This. While it's a bit of a slog, working the AH before the Companion App goes live creates some real opportunities to build your stack. Using your coins earned during the early days to make some bets on high OVR cores that are highly desired before everyone has them can literally fund your whole team building exercise in August.
The other thing I'd suggest - even though I don't personally love doing this - is playing H2H before your team is great. There are almost no implications to losing a lot at this stage. So "win one, lose five" sounds painful, but the earnings from those wins can help you buy the 2-3 cards from which you can build your team (or your coin stack) around.

Exactly this. Also 1 thing I typically do is wait a day to sell anything unless its already an ungodly price. Use bnds and budget beasts. Usually cards go up a bit once people have coins to spend
Objective daily is your friend I did only on M19 never play H2H

This. I argued in another thread that if you don't get that early-play feature, you pay through the nose for the items everyone that played early already has. But apparently I was complaining too much. [shrug]
Someone suggested that the Auction House was selling at minimum early on after the Standard Edition released. Yes, it was, for low-OVR bad items no one wanted. The good cards were quite pricey. Jalen Ramsey was selling for over one million coins. Who were buying? The guys who had built up their stacks during Ultimate Preseason. The rest of us were putting affordable cornerbacks on the field, and they couldn't cover anyone. (Ramsey wasn't amazing, but he was good enough.)
