Theme Team thoughts

This year I ran a theme team of two teams and I felt like I was constantly not as happy because I was always worried about players fitting theme team and maxing out the chems for that.

Wanting opinions for next year, do you prefer a single theme team to have more flexibility, two theme team or even three?

Next year might not be like this year.

Still just wondering what everyone's general feeling are, whether from just this years game or even over time.

If you’re starting MUT26 at the beginning it’s normally more beneficial to run a single theme team. Later in the game cycle when boosted Speed isn’t as important and there are multiple players with x2 or x3 team chems it’s better to run multiple theme teams.

I agree with this comment. The issue is that chemistries in MUT 25 were different from MUT 24. In MUT 24, you were able to get +2 SPD in August if you could assemble the same chemistries across your lineup. In MUT 25, 20/20 was the maximum from the start, which is the very reason why you saw double-theme-teams. A lot of players stuck with hybrids well after you could build a 40/40 for +2 SPD.

It seemed there were a greater number than usual of All-32 Team players available throughout the year, which meant you really didn't get tied to a team once you had the key players to build around. Again, next year could be different.

My approach to my binder and lineup will change substantially next year. I will be an off-again, on-again Head-to-Head player (if the modes are remotely fair enough to stomach it), and as a result, I will likely be more agile when it comes to building out my binder.

In summary, the answer to your question fundamentally depends on what chemistries are available from the start, and what chemistries pop up throughout the year.

After my first few months of playing Madden/MUT I decided to switch to a Patriots theme team and never looked back.  I'm a lifelong Patriots fan and it just makes sense for me.  I can focus my goals/objectives for the MUT season on only getting Patriots players rather than chasing all the shiny new cards.  I'm able to stack coins all year and have plenty on hand for when a new Patriots player/upgrade drops.

Of note, I play offline only so I don't have to try to keep up with everyone else to be competitive.  Madden is just a fun extension of actual football for me.  

One thing I do enjoy is having multiple line-ups - I keep one lineup of just current/active Patriots players .  One of "All Patriots" chem players and another used for program objectives where I insert players required to complete objectives then I switch lineups based on what I want/need to accomplish at the time

I run a pats tt every year and plug in a 2nd team when possible.

I run 50 Dolphins, 20 Bucs, and 20 Steelers

I ran 3 after Christmas on one console and 2 on the other one. 3 was tough for the exact reason you stated : too hard to fit random players you want for fear of messing up the chemistries.

100% agree with you...I have run a Jets TT since Madden 17, it makes player decisions much easier and more rewarding when you you win with players from your favorite team!

I finished MUT 24 with the Se49ulls, a Seahawks/49ers hybrid. This year I'm having trouble committing to a final team. I've got champion fantasy packs to open for Rising Stars, Fan Appreciation, and Golden Ticket. If I wasn't still bargain hunting for Surge LTD's, I would have probably settled already.

I ran a Raiders TT mixed in with positions I wasn't able to fill with a Raiders player. I wanted to run a strict tt. But with how  obsolete LTD's are. It was impossible to
