How do you all deal with

A guy who keeps forcing false starts to make the clock never run?  Playing a moron who can't win a game so this is what he does

You said, “Forcing false starts.” So your opponent had a procedure for continually making his offensive players move illegally before the snap through either multiple audibles or hard counting, or did you see anything else that they were doing to trigger a false start penalty?

Also, in what mode? (Sorry this happened to you, but your feedback here could be helpful. I’ve never run across this.)

Was in gauntlet.  He forced false starts by constantly audible until his hb would move.  He was in the formation to spike the ball every play.  Would force 2 false starts, then spike.   Rinse repeat.  Once he got close to his end zone he would run a toss run into end zone and lateral the ball into end zone where my player would recover for a td.  Maybe 3 seconds would come off clock total then I would have to kick it back to him.   Game lasted over 3 hours......

Expert glitch-cheating. Really sorry. Assuming you finally got the win.

This isn't the answer you want, but it is the real answer.  I deal with that kind of crap by NOT playing Gauntlet in July.  The people that are serious about playing the game "the right way" are done with this version of Madden.  Most have moved on to, and are eagerly awaiting tomorrow's CFB release.  I am not one that plays CFB, so like you I tend to try to get a game against another online player from time to time, but finally had to stop myself, as every game is crap like you described.  I finally finished Fan Appreciation, got my free Golden Ticket, and now I am out until they release Rookie Premiere information.

yup, if they are pausing the game just press resume and a 30 sec timer will start. if they don't resume in 30 seconds the game automatically does it

Never run into that but I did run into a situation where if I made ANY adjustments to my defense, it would result in an automatic offsides today. Odd but I chalked that up to EA’s idiocy vs my opponent taking advantage of a glitch. Luckily only happened one game.

For awhile there was a pause glitch where it stayed paused. That got old.  It was on old gen
