Now that it seems maddens taking a 2Kish approach to player traits and what they can do next year, Allow me to ask this question does anybody on here know the extent or how good “traits” are this year for instance,

CB play ball aggressive is very very very prevalent this year seems any DB with this will jump routes and be in position more times than not they might not make a play but hey they are there at least

All D line pash rush moves: last year for me that Bahktari and this years Larry had absolutely squat for pass rush traits.. yet those guys both years probably had the most consistent interior pressure I’ve had so it seems that even if they don’t get or have the trait to yes or anything seems they win more then not in my experience but then I’ve had Karl and he’s got a few on yes but high motor on yes and he seemed just about as good as the names i said previous

I wanted to ask you all and get everyone’s opinions on if traits will help madden or be it’s timely demise alongside all of this have the thinking and mindset of no badges just a raw form no ap spent d line and raw form no ap spent O line i understand there are many mos traits and may even be for the devs a completely different way of how they code and create players in the game but i just find it odd we never get a full explanation nor feel we can create a full player like we want to (I.E. Sean Taylor ray lewis Ed Reed are players that play so far above stats seem to never leave their sights barely can juke them out seem to be coded so differently)

Apologies if you find this as rumblings from a old man

Unfortunately, the way the game is structured currently, it's basically a requirement to have abilities.  WAY more important than any traits, or stats... although i think you made an excellent point that it seems to be relevant to a particular position group.  No amount of traits (or stats) will help your offense if you cannot block Unstoppable Force / Colossus, etc.  Abilities are a requirement here to even play in June & July.

Guys with 99 SPM rating don't hold a candle to a player model who is 6'4" (or taller) or 247+ pounds.  They can have ~twenty (or whatever minimum requirement is necessary) to apply Spin Cycle (or Evasive) and zoom zoom, they'll twirl all around the field.  Game simply does not play for shit without abilities.  I wish it weren't this way, but EA has painted themselves into a corner.

No i mean i understand this and also let me take time to say thank you for taking the time to read my post and everything, with that

Imagine Madden 2025 when stiff arms made you untouchable and C routes burned every man and zone if i remember that Madden didn’t have abilities it was animation locked by stats and the really good gamers would face catch and nano blitz i say this era of Madden because that was Sim football yes there was cheese and money plays but at its core it was inch by inch pound by pound a sim football game now

Look at this state of madden where even if i got 6’7 Jonny Wilson who gets a nasty spin as is to even get a dirtier 35 yard sideways spin i need spin cycle and even then works maybe a third of the time ??? I can’t remember what madden it was but it had a mode where it capped AP points where you had to sacrifice somewhere to stay under the set amount of points that was a fresher approach but my assumption it was done away because the masses didn’t want it

All I’m getting it with 26 probably being step or key 1 into a badge less madden i think they should reconsider and restructure the whole entity of mut i mean we are gonna have a generation of kids love peppers and ted Hendricks because they r 6’7 but cant appreciate guys like Ryan shazier ray Lewis’s bowman Mosley anybody who doesn’t hit 6’3 230

I always say traits, are not taken seriously enough.

- plays ball Aggressive: is a must for my DBs.. you notice more cpu picks with them, like double !!!

-Then big hitter Yes: LBs, and DBs a must, same deal but I'd say 3 times as many ff's.

-next is pass rushing, depends on the type of pass rusher, heavy or light, power or speed. match it up you need Yeses in the things they sould be good at.

- then I'd say High motor, fights for yards, and clutch. Self explanatory!

- and I dont think I have to mention, that if you're a Receiver and you "drop open passes", or you're a QB and you can't "throw a spiral",,,,,you're not good.- That's bad yeah.

trust me after abilities and main attribute "thresholds", TRAITS MATTER!

You sir couldn’t have hit it better on the head with this i believe traits are what can make a huge difference in player performance like i always say Sean Taylor is a monster honestly run plays he’s the first there pass plays when i had him he was just a hunter sad no new update on him but regardless i believe he’s a prime example of how he’s “coded” different falele , Ruke , Reddick, joe Thomas (wr) these players don’t just play more than their stats entail but you can just feel they are different
