Most of the time, DDA is used by the Madden community as an excuse to cope with why they have lost to what they would describe as an inferior team, completely ignoring that their opponent may not be inferior. Hence why many say "scheme over team".
The game is too animation based and depending on the dice roll, some animations go your way and other times animations go the other way. It's just what we have to deal with until someone comes along with an alternative for us to get our licensed football game fix. But that doesn't mean DDA is in the game.
I always simply recommend that anyone who claims DDA exists and lesser teams get boosted, to play with a lesser team and see how many more wins they get. If it exists why not take advantage of it? At the end of the day it seems that most who claim they only lost because of DDA are expecting instant wins from the team they bought vs someone who chooses not to buy all of the most expensive items for one reason or another.
Finally, I think DDA would go against EA's model of wanting to sell more packs and players. If I can field a lesser team, get assistance from the game in the form of DDA and win comfortably, why would I spend money or time to improve my team? It just doesn't make sense, but what does make sense is the animation based system used to simulate football needs an overhaul so it doesn't feel so random at times one way or the other and actually make every attribute point matter instead of making tangible improvements threshold based.
I lose to inferior teams all the time. I usually have to better team and by a lot sometimes and I still get smoked. I can't blame the game for that. My opponents are simply better. Good players who know scheme and how to play football beat me Everytime.
