It's the end of May and I still see people avoiding some cards with good stacks and for free cause his release is OTT1 instead of OTT2, does it matter when you can have a QB with Truzz, PLE, MT, and Bazooka
not really but I've had some games were I throw a pass with Maye that no other QB would have gotten off
The short answer is, it depends on how you play. But you can mitigate a "bad" release with a velo ability anyways

This is a fairly accurate description, @flarefolf -- ultimately, it's up to YOU to determine how much you truly value QB Release Style. Â EA made a huge upgrade (for M25) in the sense that there are no truly bad, or unusable, QB Releases, which was VERY different from M24. Â However, this year you need to avoid those dang "touches of realism" that so many of the modern QBs (Lamar, Stafford, Mahomes, Jalen Hurts, etc.) are doomed with. Â It causes them to have significant delays making presnap adjustments, to the point i find them completely and totally unusable.
For me, personally, i detest having to set up blocking protections on each and every single snap, so i'm often just planning to get the ball out quickly, often throwing hot into the pressure. Â And there are numerous QBs who simply cannot get the ball out quick enough to avoid the Pinch Buck 0 and/or Mid Blitz 0 type heavy pressures that we're seeing so very much of. Â YMMV, but even the objectively worst QB Release (Over the Top 1; QB William Perry, Tim Tebow, etc.) is still somewhat usable. Â Everyone should be running Gunslinger (or Gambit) anyway, which speeds up the rate at which the ball comes out.
For me there are only a handful of QBs i'll utilize, why settle, y'know? Â At the moment i have Drake Maye, but new JJ McCarthy looks absolutely fantastic. Â Also Josh Allen if EA ever fixes his buckets will be fierce, probably best pure scrambling/running QB in the entire game, above even Vick (Josh can spin!).

I bought GT Vick today for about 400k and so far, I like him even without Gunslinger (he gets it, just trying other abilities atm.) I'm curious if that Tebow is just as good for 0 coins, cause I'd rather take that option if I can lol

I finally got Tebow tonight, but haven't dropped him into the roster, no real room -- although i guess i could sell Brady and drop Tim in there, not sure why that didn't occur to me sooner.
That Over the Top 1 QB release on Tebow is not great. Â You'll DEF want (or need) Gunslinger if you try to use him. Â In fact, i would make sure any/every QB you use at this point have; Gunslinger, Gift-Wrapped and Master Tactician, along with a velocity ability if you can swing it. Â Beyond that, it becomes a bit personal preference / playstyle. Â You'll have to at least try Timmy.
I throw 3 times a game. AR and Truzz are way more important for me than passing abilities.. 😂 also, typically my qb is my leading rusher. Gonna try out josh Allen tonight.

I've been using Tim Tebow, the timing of his throw feels as good as Cam Ward, Peatrick is right that the release animations feels more balanced

that Tim Tebow seems like he might be your guy

I’m running josh Allen right now. Gotta get some clips for my homie who is a huge bills fan that quit the game a few months ago.

nice
It matters your play style, with a release there are 3 things that matter, its height (so it doesn’t bounce off a lineman’s head), Throw speed, and how fast you go while throwing. If you are a pocket QB you just want a fast release and one that isn’t super low to the ground. If you scramble then you want one that doesn’t slow you down when throwing on the run. In my opinion, if you scramble a lot, yes it matters, if you stay in the pocket, it helps but gunslinger can do the trick too
First year MUT and release so far means so much to me. Being able to get the ball out fast when you're as green as I am and fighting to avoid sacks, I need a rocket. But then there's timing. I got so use to Zero Chill Josh Allen that I d didn't switch until his MVP card came out. I also like Baker Mayfield. I have Joe Milton GT and I'm getting use to his release. Just based on my own experience this year I'd say faster releases are definitely an advantage for the novice players like myself.

I would argue there is a fourth thing that matters. Â You sort of grouped it with speed, but I would argue they are separate. Â The angle/arc of the pass. Â Certain releases the ball always seems to stay lower to the ground making it easier to pick but other releases have more of an arc. Â Drake Maye for example has a very quick release but has a nice arc on the ball. Â Whereas Over the Top 1 which is a much slower release the ball seems to travel much lower. Â Now this could all be in my head, but this is why a release is more of a personal choice type of thing. Â Some make you feel more comfortable to get that pass in than others.
