Why is it so hard to get the defense to play a flat zone properly. Literally a game where only me usering the flat was the only way to stop a HB flat why is that?

It's best to put your slot db or sub lb in a flat who is on the side of the hb with 0-5yd zone drop. He walks to the outside and kinda follows the rb instead of an outside db who just stands there waiting for someone to come into his zone.

This game is such a disappointing, buggy ass, inconsistent mess... i have to assume that's why. For the life of me, i simply cannot get any of my linebackers, specifically from 3-4 Odd or Even 6-1 formations to go out and reliably defend their zones when i've got Hard Flats on the field. You almost have to play some type of Dollar (Dime 1-4) coverage defense in hopes that your Slot DBs will do a better job defending that stuff. And yes, absolutely be sure to set your Zone adjustments to whatever depth makes sense, based on what your opponent is showing and doing.
I find that even adjusting to 15 yard Hard Flats, my DBs will often come down and play coverage. This is from a simple Cover 4 Drop, shaded DOWN. If i'm playing more Tampa 2, then i'd adjust my Zone Flats to perhaps 20-25 yards, hoping to not get beat over top.

Loved this man....detailed AF...I literally lost a game where I knew I was better than the opponent but I couldn't get the flat guarded and when I would user he would attack the middle because players aren't animating when they literally have universal coverage on. This game is dog💩
Easy fix .. just go to coaching adjustments right when the game starts and put zone flat at 0.... The de will then or who ever from the line you choose play a zero flat .. for some reason this year they changed the default to like 3 and a half or something. Weird...
