There isn't a QB yet that has a 0 AP stack that I'd be happy with. I currently have 2AP on Milton and it's the lowest AP stack I've run on QB yet this year.
I also have at least 1 AP for my HB at this point for AR at the very least.
I have 1 AP for Irvin for AR.I run Vanguard on Vernon now bc I have the extra AP, and I also have Munoz, and once in a while I can get the Judge's Xfactor to light up. When I was running Nelson and Long as my Guards I tried using it on 4 cards at the same time. It just wasn't OP like last year.
But like I said, go off if you're having fun with it. You should clip some of your sickest runs bc I think pancakes are the funniest thing in this game besides the coding.
This almost exactly describes my own experience... i feel liek the community way overhyped Vanguard this year. It has clearly been nerfed to hell, nowhere near as effective as in prior years. It's been quite a few weeks since I ran it, but had Vanguard on both Guards, Munoz (WR) and Vernon (TE) and it was nowhere near as dominant as during M24 cycle. I just want to play simulation fatball, not try to cheese my way over top or through some boys with gimmicky shit... but as you so accurately pointed out, we're officially in MUT-season boyz. If it's not fun for you, why are you doing it -- and if it's extremely fun for you to chase a half dozen (or more) Vanguards, then please, by all means, have at it gentlemen!
I'd much rather run a full 7AP stack on AR15 with Inside + Sideline Deadeye, so that every single pass is a perfect blue... although at the moment i'm using Baker for his elite release (and 5AP stack). I was fortunate enough to pull Joe Milton from my 2800 Point pack today, but think i'm going to try and sell him, i don't love the release. It's above average, but not elite. Why settle, it's May, ya know? Nothing is more important than getting the ball out quickly, so at this late stage in the Madden season, I can really only use either of the top two QB Release styles (Baker or AR15 / Josh Allen). Anything else feels mediocre, at best.
I'm running Julio, Johnny Wilson and 7 foot Too Tall as my primary receivers. Sold Munoz a while back, i've got Randall McDaniel who can fill in as outside WR if i need the extra blocking help.
