Caleb Williams sleeper QB1

I just sniped the draft Caleb Williams and thought I’d give it a try before flipping it. It is easily the best QB card from a pure passing standpoint that I’ve used this year. That includes Luck, Young, and Leaf among a few others. He will probably be my QB for the rest of the year.

His stack is elite. Basically Dots, PLE, and MT for 4AP. Same as Bryce but he is somehow way more accurate. Elite ball placement. I assume it’s the higher TAC rating, but it’s a night and day difference. Highly recommend.

You should try Baker or Anthony Richardson once you get that sold. AR15 is super cheap, probably less than 50k rental cost. Throw Sideline + Inside Deadeye on him and go nuts. Every pass is a perfect blue... and he's got the second best QB release style in the entire game, plus Tank + Truzz baked on. He's quite good. 

I just fumbled with Baker on a QB Sneak, so I'm a little salty about that right now. Otherwise he's pretty great, also, but doesn't get same combo.

I’ve tried them. I am very particular with what I need at QB. I throw a lot of tight windows, back shoulders, etc. Not because I’m good, but because my initial reads weren’t there and I catch something out of the corner of my eye late lol. 

I know these abilities say “perfect accuracy” but I can’t say I believe it. The reason why is, I can have perfect blue throws all day long, but, depending on the QB, the perfectly accurate throw will either be in a bad spot or won’t be anywhere near the receiver at all. 

With AR, he had an awesome release, but after the football was gone, it would land in the hands of the defender who was a few yards up field of the receiver he overthrew out of a break. Baker was better, but there are better QBs out there in that price range. For 400k-600K, I’ll take Bryce all day long.

Granted, I don’t scramble, but Caleb is the first QB where I don’t feel limited in any way. He throws balls how I feel like they should be thrown and if there is a problem, it’s because of my bad decision, not an inability to get the ball where it needs to go.

I might sell and buy back when the price drops again but I can’t see using other QB  now that I know this is out there. And not at Vick or Luck prices.

Are you on the Placement & Accuracy passing mechanic?

Yes. I flipped to the revamped passing for a while just to check it out. It was really good with combine Vick and Nix, but I eventually noticed some issues with accuracy moving on to other QB’s. I switched back a while ago and it has helped a lot.

That's why yer struggling with the legitimate best QBs -- ya, if yer on Classic Passing then we're not discussing the same stuff.  Use whatever works for YOU, but you are definitely missing out by not using Placement & Accuracy mechanic.  You just need to get out there and throw 10,000 passes and it'll start to feel more comfortable... and will seriously open up yer game and enable you to take advantage of the best signal callers available.

No you misread. I only used revamped on combine Vick and Nix. It worked better for me for some reason. I switched back and am now using placement and accuracy.

OHHHH, i'm sorry i can be dense at times (or all of the times), my apologies.  I know that there can be mad overthrows, as a result of Gunslinger ability... and it can take a while to get accustomed to throwing with Baker and AR15 style QB release.  Heck, i've repeated this bad story dozens of times, but on Christmas mr0ning i woke up and seriously thought Josh Allen card was TERRIBLE.  I simply could not adjust to how quick his release was, so i was missing a ton of throws.  Probably took me 2-3 days to relearn the timing, so i could reliably start hitting those perfect blue passes on the quick-snap QB Release style.

If you've been used to a particular QB, it can definitely require an adjustment period.  Some people seem to have no problem adjusting that timing, i needed quite a few reps to get it down.

I haven't really used Patrick Mahomes since M25 beta, so i'm not super familiar with that Caleb specific stuff... Run N Gun sounds fun if you get outside the pocket, but i'm mostly a statue.  I'm not even sure what "Revamped" is, is that Classic, but slightly different?  Sorry, i'm a moron.  Last year Patty Mahomes had such a strange sidearm release that it was essentially unusable.  Glad they fixed or changed that this year, even the Over the Top 1, which is objectively THE worst QB Release style in the entire game isn't that awful, to the point of being unusable.  I can't/won't use it, but some people make it work.

In my mind, nothing is more important than getting the ball out quickly.
