M26 also will be available for the Switch 2. Last Madden I remember on a Nintendo console was the GameCube. I successfully preordered the Switch 2 last night so might give it a shot.

The last Nintendo console to have a Madden was M13 on the Wii U. But it has been a minute. Still will keep playing it on Xbox though

Thanks! I couldn’t remember the last one. The wiiU I didn’t have much experience with.
Yep, I’ll still play on the Xbox just due to familiarity and the ease of playing w/ friends, but could be a fun travel grind if the game ever goes on heavy discount.
Thank god. Hopefully EA can add features to utilize the power of current generation consoles, not bottlenecked by trying to make the game compatible with a system released in 2013.
This is good.
If you need an upgrade, the series s *****has been******* okay for Madden.
Madden 24 I could do 1440p 120fps on my monitor.
Madden 25 is 1080p 120 fps.
Madden 26 may keep 1080p/120, but I guess not guaranteed. Could be back to 60 fps, or it may be an annoying visual downgrade to keep 120 fps.
So now I’m not so confident in the series s for 26, it may want the series x for decent visuals / fps.
All this to say, I’d say it’s a decent chance the series s will be ok for 26 as an upgrade if you are on older consoles. But I would prob go with x if you can swing it.
Series s would be safer, too, in case there is a refreshed series s/x for holiday. Who knows.

Gameplay on Madden def has its issues. I won't get into all that in this thread, but to say the game "plays" well, is laughable.
Madden DOES though, at least the past few years, perform very well on next gen consoles. I get a pretty stable 120 frames (I do have an LG OLED that has built in Gsync, Freesync, VRR, etc), w/ minimal input lag w/ no real drop in visual fidelity. Most of the time, even the quick resume feature "works" when its a buggy mess on most other titles. For all of Madden/EA's flaws, the game does "play" well on next gen.
I would imagine the series S will still handle 26 fairly well.

The game was basically a roster update on old gen so not sure why you act they were even thinking about it that much. Old gen or current gen the game will still be in a garbage state and receive the same amount of care and attention.

Ya I cant complain on the performance in game. Some games seem sluggish, idk if thats against older gen, poor connection, whatever.
Most of the time it’s responsive and smooth.
Monitor does help. Sharpening, for sure. I have a not so great LG VA panel and I had to mess with settings to have it look OK. But it is highly responsive.
Fingers crossed for 26, I really don’t expect series s to struggle too much. I really don’t want to worry about getting an x, I’d rather get a refreshed s.
