I have been playing MUT, since Madden 19. Pretty much since I learned how to play the market, I became more of a certified Menu Grinder than a boring, meta-copying, one-play spamming game player (okay it's because I'm average at the game and I enjoy the little hits of dopamine I get when I make a profit). Regardless, here are 10 tips for making coins online:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Practice safe sets: Set requirements and returns have changed a lot over the years. Not only did we used to get heroes back for completing sets, we got them as NAT (Not Auctionable or Tradable) meaning you could get these lower level cards back and put them into other sets. Yes, it was awesome and BNDs suck when they aren't full champions, but that is a post for another time. Regardless, these things ended up priced in. No matter how much sets have changed, you were always able to make coins on them if you knew where to look.
For me, I like to go one level below the top and build the heroes to put into the Champions to sell. The best time to turn a profit on these cards is on the day the promo drops when there is the most volume. So many people are pulling packs and chasing high cards that if you sit on the lower level promo card filters, you will find people putting cards up for sometimes up to 20% lower than the average price. If you save even 10K each on 5 cards, that's 50K of profit off the bat. Just make sure you consider the 10% tax on the sale. Sets aren't always profitable, but they very often are.
One thing to note as well is that you can pre-build for two part promos. It can be a risk if the second part is a dud, but more often than not it pays to build. The most recent example for me is the crazy All-Star Athletes Part 2. These might as well have been Golden Tickets. I was buying the heroes at 120K during the week and 95s at 90K. That adds up to 540 to build a champion, which went for 900 when the new ones dropped. Just remember we won't always be that lucky.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. If you're gonna buy, build:
In a similar vein, if you want a new card, look at the set and it can be worth it to build the card rather than straight up buy. This is nice too because even if the difference doesn't cover the 10% tax that would make flipping worth it, you can save some coins you would have spent anyway. One thing to note here, again with the pre-building, is if you know a card is coming that you want in a promo like UL or ASA, you want to get the cards to make at least one hero since that specific hero will be needed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. Prices fluctuate:
You see this one all the time. If a promo first drops, yes it will likely fall a bit over time, especially from the minute it comes out, but don't worry so much about price movements. These things fluctuate. As such, don't panic undercut because you are afraid of holding the bag. Sure, maybe don't sell for 50K over the lowest price, but I'll usually put a card up above the second or third lowest price and I can tell you more often than not they sell. This applies to everything, not just new promos. A great example is yesterday I was watching the Combine Micah Parsons. It went for 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 million as people anticipated the Reduxes today. Later the same day, one sold for 1.9M. Point is, if you understand that when a card or group of cards drop suddenly, this doesn't always become the new consensus price, you can use that knowledge to make a lot of coins.
EA actions certainly come into play for this one. The Ring of Honor cards were the most obvious case. These cards were priced like they were going to become completely unusable when the buckets changed. Then EA barely changed the buckets and they shot back up. Another is sets. Look at 93s which were going for about 35K on Wednesday and then over 70K on Thursday because they were a part of the sets to build 95 ASAs. This one is more tricky to anticipate, but I can tell you a lot of times when lower level cards are priced at the floor, EA will drop a set that will push them back up, especially later in the year.

4. Know the market:
If you spend time on the market, this will come naturally, but it helps to know how much overalls tend to go for and how much higher level cards go for. This way, you will know a snipe opportunity when you see one.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Check your golds:
Check your golds. For people trying to fill out theme teams easily, some golds go for as much as 10-20K. Usually, these will be offensive/defensive linemen, linebackers, or tight ends on the high end theme teams. They are easy cards to fill out those theme teams without the player seeing the field. You can use the players search here if it helps:

6. Coin packs are a guaranteed L:
It sucks, but don't buy packs unless you are prepared to pull the bare minimum because you will pull the bare minimum. Right now, you can pull an ASA pack for 54K which contains 2x89+ ASA cards and 1 88+. You have about a 1 in 4 chance of pulling a 91+. Meaning 3 out of 4 of these packs contain 2 89s and an 88-90, which is a nice maybe 15-20K that you will make. Casinos yearn for odds like these. Don't get FOMO when you see people telling you about their crazy pulls or that packs are juiced. They're not, they just got lucky.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
7. Sell overnight:
This is a weird one but it holds true and has held true for me for 7 years: the night market is a magical place where you can put up a card for a little bit higher than the going price and 9 times out of 10 it will sell. It's probably due to lower volume, but if I'm playing at night, I'll throw up a card for 8 hours and when I get back on the next day it will have sold.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. Filters are your friend...
When buying, especially for sets, get familiar with filters. Any given filter will show up to 100 cards with the least amount of time remaining. As such, you can filter down a lot of times and find cards for cheaper that were put up for 12-24 hours.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
9. ...so are unfilters
Remember when we talked about promo days and volume? Because of this, so many low elites are pulled for a specific promo that the filters fill up quick. As such, you don't need to sell the low elites at the lowest price. Sell them for higher and put them up for an hour. After usually 20-30 minutes, these cards show up for the people who don't filter to see lower prices and will sell.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10. Don't be afraid to lose:
Finally, don't be afraid to lose. If you play the market enough, you will take some L's, but you will have made so many W's that the L's are just a cost of doing business. As they say, scared money don't make money.
