What Is Happening When...

...a defender trailing and above a receiver on a crosser 'bumps' the receiver and gets ahead and underneath them for the pick?

...a receiver on a nine-route barely a step ahead of a defensive back 'wiggles' and suddenly the defensive back is three yards behind them and out of the play when the receiver catches the ball?

These two things happen to me far too frequently, especially against users that are presumably playing MUT at a highly competitive level. How do I stop these extremely glitchy interactions?

in all seriousness, Ive been victim to many “picks” of the pick and roll variety vs interception “picks” as well but just chalk it up to a broken game (OR maybe EA is going for realism with missed calls… but that would be giving them too much credit). Just part of the game i guess so I just live with it.

Also in the times I’ve experienced this, it’s the AI screwing up and disrupting my routes and not getting flagged! When users do it, the games been pretty decent at calling PI. Hope what you’re experiencing isn’t some exploit people have found.

you're probably getting user swerved. if they are lobbing bombs on streaks in 1v1 cvg, good players will swap onto the receiver and try to sort of push you out the way by swerving to the side a little. you will have to swap onto the defender and avoid it or bump back.

Thanks for your answer. That sounds like a good explanation of what's happening. However, when it happens to my defender, they get completely taken out of the play. It sounds like I need to switch to that defender before they get "swerved".

In the game®, this never happens because the receiver would be giving up speed and would likely risk drawing offensive pass interference.
