How to activate Xfactor in game

How do you know what you actually need to do for your players Xfactor to turn on? I see some have actual descriptions that tell you like Enter: catch consecutive targets (3)

But a ton of Xfactors just say "enter the zone" or on the card it gives an explanation of what the xfactor does, not how to actually enter the zone 

Then if you use an ability like indoor baller, it reduces the zone objectives, how do you know what it reduces the objectives too?

EDIT, ah i see where it say how to activate, you only know after purchasing it.

does indoor baller reduce it only by one?
