Currently I'm running SB MVP Hurts and a Cowboys/Eagles theme team, but all I hear/see is everyone saying Nix or Lamar are the go to QB's, should I sell Hurts for $1m and grab one of those guys? Is it that much better??
Me personally I would sell hurts and get Lamar because that’s the qb I rock and I only use 8 so on him and he has a Good ability stack but I haven’t hit the chance to see what nix or hurts are like joping that helps but if not I understand
Appreciate the feedback for sure. I'm only just learning about abilities and I thought I was set with Hurts but I don't verse him that often either which tells me he's not a top tier. I'm just a wanna be good player that lacks skill but I'm trying haha
Hey, I've used all 3 of them and Dontari Poe OOP. So I'd say that It depends on your playstyle and how many players you have in your TT, If you have a lot of eagles players then I might keep hurts as he gives +1 speed and the stocking stuffer bonuses that once combined can give you a really big bonus. I am currently using Bo nix as I have a mostly cowboys team (yes I liked Poe as well but I wanted to give nix a try) the Lamar is great, the always on run and gun is awesome and he is the one that has the ability to use only 2-3 ap which the others don't if you want pass lead elite/set feet lead but Lamar doesn't get them discounted at all. Hurts has the best overall stats (98 speed base, 99 throw power, 99 on the run, 99 under pressure, 98 break sack,98 medium accuracy.) but his abilities cost the most, unless you run unstoppable master tac, but that will mean you don't get the ability to use unstoppable run and gun, if you don't use him with set feet, his ap cost is 3-5 depending on truzz or not, but i used hi with 5-6 ap (master tac x-factor, set feet lead or pass elite depending on the other offense players i had, gunslinger) he is amazing, the break tackle on him is insane but the doesn't get the x-factor as abilities that the combine cards and Lamar do (other than truzz) Bo nix is the best passer in the group, but also the slowest (can be made up with escape artist though) he has 99 throw power 96 deep (the best of all of them) and 99 throw on the run, he doesn't brake tackles like the others due to his 73 break sack and 94 break tackle (the lowest overall of the group) but he makes some outrageous throws. the ability stacks on him are so varied and are dependent on what you want (3ap pass lead elite is nuts, you can run 0 or 2 ap backyard qb, 1 ap truzz, 1 or 2 ap escape artist, 0-2 ap gunslinger but you can't run all of them at their cheapest together) his run and gun isn't always on but with pass lead elite, he makes some throws that frankly boggle the mind, so thats why most people like him the most, as madden is super pass dependent. then there is Dontari Poe. He is by far the most stupid (but unfortunately he doesn't have his fat body in the game so he doesn't look like 350 pounds) his accuracies are the worst overall, but are still all 90+, he has 98 Throw power, 98 break tackle, 98 truck, 98 stiff arm his speed is 95, (for me 97 due to chems). He gets freight train, which combined with escape artist makes him almost unstoppable on a qb scramble. There are so many different ways to run him as he gets 1-2 ap freight, 1-2 ap escape artist, 0-2 ap gunslinger, 0 ap tank (I didn't use it but it could be good) 3 ap set feet lead, the must is using one of the special slots for backyard qb 0 ap and he is the only one that doesn't get truzz as an ability, so If you don't want to fumble you can take the special x-factor version, where it isn't on the whole game, and then you cant use the run and gun (the run and gun functions the same as Bo's one) but he breaks tackles like a HB.
So depending on how you play, and your overall team construction this is what I suggest.
- If you have lots of Eagles players (like at least 5-10 and its best if they are dline, oline or dbs) then I'd keep Hurts
-If you don't have that many eagles and you play a balanced qb style with lots of throws on the run but don't always scramble then I'd use Lamar
-If you mostly stand in the pocket and pass, only occasionally scrambling, but throws on the run too. Then I'd take Bo nix (you can also make him a good scrambler but hurts is better at that as standard, especially due to his special freight train x factor if you want to use that and Poe is better at that overall)
-If you do a lot of scrambling and do stuff like triple option, speed option, qb draw or blast then I'd take Poe, It helps that he can get cowboys chem as well.
also If you have the money for someone who does everything that all of those cards do but better, then get Michael Vick (unless you dislike lefty qbs)
Thanks Mate! Great feedback, I had to read it again cause I was half asleep when I first read it, so much information in there, I love the passion haha.
i have 40/50 cowboys and about 20ish of eagles. I'm mostly a pocket passer but lately have been running out of the pocket to give myself more time cause all these blitz plays blowing up my o-line!
So thinking I'll stick with Hurts. maybe I'll play around with his abilities, I'm not even sure what I have on him atm.
