Content creators are basically bait and try to get you to sell/buy coins on a website they promote. If you want Madden content, just watch videos from pro players.
A couple years back CC posted a video at the end of the year showing exactly how much he spent during the season. I don't recall the number but it was somewhere between $11k-$15k...he was quick to advise folks to not follow his example. He broke down why he spends so much...basically he was spending it so we wouldn't (as he was quick to point out it is a bad idea) and that he gets paid to spend that money (subscribers, advertisements...I have no clue). From that point on I considered him to be the one of the most honest of the lot (not saying all the others are not honest...but CC did seem to be very transparent).
Massadolphin said:Ill never understand how people get so annoyed with how people spend their money or enjoy the game . If you don't like Madden or EA or you don't like watching content creators then don't consume them . You fix your issue easily . It like walking into the wall and complaining , then walk back into the wall .
One word, disincentivization. Every dollar spent by creators, whales, and shills disincentivizes and actually rewards EA for progressively making MUT worse year after year.
Even the stoutest of shills have to admit, the money grab tactics have gotten insane. Between the all time pack odd lows, BND mid rewards, and fully leaning into the 50/50 gambling for actual point packs, creators and whales have enabled EA to do this. Don’t even start with the $800 13 step up offer pack. Money spenders allow this predatory behavior to happen and the expense of what should be a more balanced approach to the user base.
It’s not pocket watching, it’s literally a zero sum game where dollars spent directly and adversely impact others‘ experience. I’ll never understand how people can’t make this elementary correlation.

I don't think understood what I was saying , I by no means is saying EA is a good company . I'm saying if you have a problem with EA or Madden or both , it is an easy solution stop playing . If you watching a streamer/content creator that you don't enjoy or makes the thing enjoy worse , then again easy fix stop watching . I cant be mad at someone who enjoys the game differently than me , for example I hate franchise/regs so hence I don't play franchise and regs but I don't get annoyed with the people who make content for that experience .

The problem is there is no alternative for simulated NFL football. The game sold less than last year, with a worse product, and EA’s response was to just suck more money from the players who will pay anything to still bring in revenue.

This argument confuses me as well , I understand there is not another NFL football game but there are plenty of other sports game and also plenty of different genre video games . There is also different recreational hobbies/activities . For example if I lived in a town and the only place including (frozen or homemade) pizza restaurant was terrible and used rotten ingredient's and was dirty and the staff was rude , I wouldn't continue to go there since and use the argument " its the only place I can get pizza " , I would just go get a burger , steak or even a salad .

That’s a bad analogy. The alternative is to recreate your own pizza, buy a frozen pizza, or even travel out of town. No matter what I try I can’t get the NFL to license my product. I indulge in other hobbies, but none of them can recreate football.
It’s their jobs though, opening packs for them is a tax write off at the end of the financial year where as for the common madden gamer it is money spent and lost.
They open these so they can always have the latest cards and afford the shiney new LTD’s and have a variety of videos, people who are considering spending $100 may watch a few pack openings before buying themselves
While I agree that if money continues to pour into EA’s pockets, this will result in nothing being change, there’s another side to that argument. EA have been doing greedy and below average scum moves for quite some time now and their stock price reflects that distrust and lack of faith from their shareholders.
I think if you wiped all content creators off the earth, EA would continue to do the scummy things they do…
It’s more about the size of the company than the people participating. Amazon, Netflix, Adobe, Uber, Air BnB all once had great perks to them and cheap services and now theyre massive global companies, they’ve all turned into corporate greed with massive subscription costs, no platform sharing, ads, no benefits etc
Examples of how EA will continue to do their bullshit even if all content creators were wiped off the planet. adding extra context to my post above.
1. Amazon
Then: Free shipping on almost everything, great discounts, no ads, and a focus on customer satisfaction.
Now: Prime membership keeps getting more expensive, more ads on the platform, lower-quality customer service, and a shift toward maximizing seller fees.
2. Netflix
Then: Affordable subscription with a huge library, no ads, and the ability to share accounts freely.
Now: More expensive plans, cracked down on password sharing, removed popular content, and introduced an ad-supported tier while still increasing prices.
3. Uber
Then: Super cheap rides, frequent promo codes, and great incentives for drivers.
Now: Prices surged, fees increased, fewer promotions, and worse driver pay due to commission cuts.
4. Airbnb
Then: Cheap and unique alternatives to hotels, with transparent pricing.
Now: High service fees, cleaning fees almost as expensive as the stay, and restrictions that make it less flexible than hotels.
5. Adobe
Then: One-time purchases for software like Photoshop and Illustrator, student discounts, and lifetime access.
Now: Expensive monthly subscriptions, aggressive licensing policies, and no option to own the software outright.
for reference i used to pay $30 NZD a month, now they charge me $149 NZD 5 years later. i canceled my plan as that is extortion

Ok ill play the silly game lets say there is only place in the universe and you don't have access to time travel or other dimensions travel . You ate a pizza at the only place in that universe and it was good one time and then every subsequent time it was the worse experience ever would you continue to go and eat it ?

Spitting facts , to be honest this is basically the America we live in .

What silly little game? I’m not engaging in hypotheticals. It’s clear you can’t or don’t want to address the issue with EA being the only company that has the NFL’s licensing. Enjoy your day bro.
NickyRozay said:It is not, and should never be, the responsibility of content creators to make EA fix things or change their ways. Nor should we be asking content creators to stop spending money. It will not change anything. Regular people will still spend money all the time on this game. There are likely thousands of regular people out there who spends hundreds every year on Madden who have never once watched a Youtube video, Twitch stream, opened Twitter or heard of this website. Stop misplacing your frustration on content creators. If you were in their shoes you would likely spend some money on this game too. It's literally their CAREER and they can write off the expenses anyways. Just my two cents, but to me this is misplaced anger. EA is the problem, not content creators.
I am not misplacing blame, EA is 100% to blame. Unless people cut them off financially, they will continue to do the things they do. Content Creators, aside from being big spenders themselves, also incentivize their viewers to buy packs because they showed the awesome LTD they pulled. So unfortunately, any boycott you try to put in place on EA would have to include not watching content creators as well since they help feed EA as well and proliferate the spending behavior.
