Damar Hamlin was injured during the 2022 season... Joe Burrow was injured during the 2023 season. The winner of the comeback player of 2024 would be someone hurt during the previous season. Not only that Joe Burrow put up monster numbers and you're comparing him to an at best mediocre safety.
They changed the qualifications. You have to come back from injury, not from being ass.

"minor injury", that injury he had could have made him never throw the same again. they changed the rules to coming back from injury, not from being a bust

You're 100% spot on correct here with this assessment. Although, i'd also suggest this happens with other awards, specifically thinking Coach of the Year. I am still not sure what Nick Sirianni even does, he's one of those "chairman of the boards" / CEO type head coaches. He doesn't call plays (on offense, nor defense), he doesn't have a scheme... big Dom is his hype man / attack dog. What skills does Sirianni bring to the table that are above average? All my nonsensical ranting aside, hard to argue with the results.
But back to my original (albeit poorly explained) point -- someone liek Andy Reid should be earning Coach of the Year. Despite shitting the bed when it mattered most, he's managed to take a handful of scrubs and get them to the big dance time and time again. Kevin O'Connell did amazing things this year, i'm amazed we didn't see the real Sam Darnold prior to the playoffs, but i think deep down, we all knew what was coming... but he's also got the best receiver in the entire NFL and some other truly elite weapons to pair with a fiercely aggressive defense.
I can't take anyone with frosted tips (or bleach blonde hair) seriously. Especially not a grown ass man.
