Here are my NFL Honors predictions for this NFL season
MVP:
MVP is between 2 people IMO, Lamar and Saquon. Josh Allen did have an amazing season and I enjoy watching him too, but every QB that won MVP was the First Team All-Pro. Unless the people that voted for Lamar to be First Team All-Pro decided to vote differently for the MVP I think he isn't going to win. Saquon obviously got 2000 yards on the season and 13 rushing TDs, insane season. He is just the 9th player all-time to get 2k on a season. But, we all know MVP is a QB award and with the season Lamar had I think he is going to win. 4k+ passing yards while having 900 on the ground and a 1.9k RB in the backfield is insane. Broke his own Ravens all-time single season passing TD record that he set in his 2019 MVP season and only 9 turnovers TOTAL on the season (4 INTs and 5 lost fumbles).
OPOTY:
This one is between Saquon and Ja'marr Chase. Chase won the triple crown (leading NFL in catches, yards, and TDs for receivers). 127 catches for 1,708 yards and 17 TDs. Kupp won the triple crown and OPOTY award with 145 catches, 1,947 yards and 16 TDs. The best RB that year was Jonathan Taylor who had 1,800+ yards and 18 TDs, but this season there is a record shattering RB. I think Saquon is going to win OPOTY because of how good he was and he is on the Eagles (a playoff team). Ja'marr being on a non-playoff team hurts him here IMO, I think Saquon takes it home.
DPOTY:
This award is between PS2 and Trey Hendrickson IMO. Trey leads the league in sacks at 17.5, and he also has 2 FF, 6 PD, and 46 total tackles. Surtain hasnt allowed a single TD in covergae this season, hasnt missed a tackle (according to PFF), and has 5 INTs on the year with 2 going for 6 points. I think this is pretty easy, Surtain claims DPOTY.
OROTY:
Jayden Daniels, need i say more. OROTY always goes to a QB if there are good ones, sorry Brock but JD5 wins this one.
DROTY:
I think this race is between Verse and Mitchell. Both have had amazing seasons and are huge impacts to their teams. Verse is a 25% replacement for Donald IMO, he has been dominating all season. Mitchell doesn't have crazy stats that jump off the board, I think that hurts him. Verse brings this one home due to Mitchell having "mid" stats. (Odds are toward Verse and I think with Mitchell having no INTs, FF, etc hurt him)
CBPOTY:
This one is between Joe Burrow and Sam Darnold. Burrow missed a lot of time last season due to a wrist injury. He had to get surgery on his wrist and most NFL QBs haven't been the same after, but not Joey B. Burrow put up MVP numbers this year but with him being on a non-playoff team i dont think he wins that award. Darnold was a former first-round pick but his career quickly declined. The Vikings picked him up in the offseason to be a solid backup behind McCarthy, but things took a turn. McCarthy got a season-ending injury before the season started so the Vikings elected to start Darnold. The Darnold lead Vikings ended the season with a 14-3 record but sadly lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Rams. My prediction is that Joe Burrow will win CBPOTY, after having to get surgery to his throwing wrist to putting up MVP number the next season is insane.
COTY:
This one is between Dan Quinn and Kevin O'Connell. Dan Quinn (with roster improvements) turned the 2nd worst team to a playoff birth. The Vikings were expected to be bad this season but ended with a 14-3 record even after their promising rookie Qb went down with a season-ending injury. I think this one goes to Dan Quinn, not a soul thought that the Commanders would sniff the playoffs but the Vikings were expected to be mid.
Summary:
MVP: Lamar Jackson
OPOTY: Saquon Barkley
DPOTY: Patrick Surtain II
OROTY: Jayden Daniels
DROTY: Jared Verse
CBPOTY: Joe Burrow
COTY: Dan Quinn
I was bored lol
