I really like football, and I want to like Madden, but these little children with opportunities too big for their tender years behave like the worst of brats.
It is no surprise to me why so many head-to-head Madden players are toxic: Their heroes are toxic too.
They really are. Some of them are toxic af and cry the whole time. I listened to one last year and the kid just sat raging talking crap the whole time. Thats embarrassing af imo but its what EA pushes.
Everything about these MCS competitions is an embarassment. The players are children; the commentators are charlatans; and above all, none of it has an ounce of fun reflected in it. To phatalerror’s point, whether this is a reflection of the toxic community or the partial cause of it, the NFL should watch this and see what Madden IS.
It's what they've always pushed dating back to the trash reality show on ESPN that followed Madden players. I think the game meta having glitchy garbage fest componetes celebrated as "skill" or "innovation" hurts the cause of toxicity as well.
This is what i mean when i say EA loves it. The MCS events are awful and they are everything wrong with Madden. Every single part of the MCS sucks and the commentators give me a headache. When you have the MCS guys crying and bitching to each other, what do you expect the younger crowd to do? the kids love these guys and they try to play like them, of course they will mimic their shit personalities too.

Also if you have noticed MCS guys are the only people this year able to use ALT Uni's(Any one they want)where us Little people cant.I had someone at EA tell me point blank these dont work this year in Mut Mode....lmaooooooooooo

EA caters to the MCS guys and it ruins the game. Honestly, it would be better if they had a separate game mode for MCS people and non-MCS people. Let them all play each other and glitch each other out all day, leave everyone else alone.

Well I think Comp being heavily integrated with the game for so long already has ruined the future of Madden Ultimate Team as well, the casual/slightly good players have found how good the glitchy stuff is so they never will go away from it for years to come...cause why would they? It's so much easier for them this way....It's unfortunate but I believe the Meta of MUT is permanently ruined....only way it stops is if EA patches the defenses when they're discovered but I highly doubt that happens.

Yea i agree. I doubt EA will ever fix the glitches since they allow more people to play and win games. Picture this MCS event without all the glitchy shit, how would these kids play? Sad to say but the glitchy garbage sells

Yup....it's like when people in Fortnite started learning how to peace control and box fight or cone people, it pretty much changed the entire game from having good strategy and aim while being able to maybe build a 1x1 tower or a fort, to then building being the major determining mechanic instead and the meta was to get good at building instead.
Its a competitive environment. Things happen. Madden is not the only community where words and gestures are used in a hype moment. Soft generation.
I can remember in the 90's when Street Fighter II was the rage, and there was a code of honor among most gamers: You couldn't feint an attack and then use a throw attack against a player that was understandably attempting to defend. Even the game itself made what came to be known as "cheap throwing" difficult. It was customary that if someone accidently violated that code, after the opponent recovered from the throw, the offending player would submit to an equivalent throw from their opponent.
With tournament play, this code wasn't generally acknowledged in competition, but players that relied on what would have been considered "cheap throws" in open play were branded for their disregard for the code even at the tournament level.
Just a perspective from an ancient past.
