Right but Specific Team Theme Teams is the exact point of the boosts, which is why die hards went 50/50 as fast as possible in years passed. Madden himself coached the Raiders. Doesn't get more Ultimate than the goat himself.

I think this is the most balance madden has been in a long time and I have played since madden 14 (2025). I didn't pick up the game for the first time not in august this year. the perspectives I've seen from this thread is as varied as I ever seen before.
abilities are not what they've been this year. all the chatter has been what's cheese and what's not cheese, what's meta and what's not meta. the best cards were always the big names that would eventually be OOP and less of the modern players of the game today.
theme teams this year are fine. the program teams made everything worse cause they would leap every team from a cornfield radius not only in overall team building but gameplay and they need bid do of that.
everyone is gonna chase the important stats of the card by any means necessary, and it will never change.

Ty law never played with christian gonzalez. Theme teams bridge the gap between different generations legends who wore the same uniform.

I loved MLB the Show but sets really ruined it for the casual player, plus the less you play the less you can see an outlier fastball online lol.

Facts. And the maxed boosts would a lot of times make the lower rated cards play much better, imo.

sure, thats one thing thats cool. But overall Theme teams are just basically playing Regs, and there is already a Regs.

I get the argument content wise against theme teams but I really enjoy team building and unlocking chems and boosts doing so is enjoyable and I feel good for gameplay. If done correctly and I feel we need more detail here like scheme chems to get more variation in h2h and personalization. I’m also not opposed to a massive overhaul but seems unlikely so quickly.
As far as abilities go I’m not the biggest fan of how dominant and prominent they are (all the time) but I don’t think it’s going anywhere. For two main reasons it’s good for EA $$ and many players both enjoy and benefit from it.
A “Classic” game mode without abilities/X factors and maybe a few other adjustments like no stat cap at 99 (please EA) seems like a fair compromise.

When the new card is considered trash because it doesn't have the certain ability stack or simply dbs won't catch the ball because they don't have PA that's a big issue for me. Abilities have completely ruined this game mode and every player has to depend on Abilities working when building a team. Older muts there weren't abilities and the card you bought performed like it was supposed to. As for money making for ea I'm not exactly sure of numbers but I would bet they weren't doin bad when this mode was ability free.
so much has to change with the way gameplay works im not sure if they can even pull abilities atp. games that far gone lol
What the next Madden needs is a permanent cool down mode so people don't have to be forced to play meta exploit cheesers 99.8% of the time. Until they do that I will never buy another madden.

majority of their player base are teenagers and adults who never touched a field and can’t touch their toes. if they limited it to real football concepts they’d force out all their clients. sadly they leave certain exploits in the game so the try hard has a lane to compete.
i wish it could be this way but it’s foolish dream.
