📉🔥📉 EA stock posts biggest daily (percentage) drop since 2008 🗑️🗑️🗑️

keep feeding the whales and eventually you're going to run out of food.

the madden points offers are almost all entirely garbage. absolutely ridiculously overpriced gambling nonsense garbage. and the game itself isn't exciting or rewarding any longer so you're losing the base. why am i grinding these time consuming objectives for a 99% chance at a 82 OVR BND player? 

not to mention THE GAMEPLAY JUST SUCKS. Seriously, watch the AI in this game. they're stupid. Your stats don't matter because they auto-adjust the sliders, the AI blatantly favors itself over you even though you're supposed to spend money for BETTER players

they don't update rosters in Ultimate Team, they constantly do the bare minimum shit solo challenges. all they do is cater to twitch streamers and youtube promoters and at some point that lake is run dry.

I got fed up with the pack scams and have only bought one all year and won't buy more. EA needs to spend more time on the game and less time trying to take our money.

The idea of a spending strike or pack strike is getting about as much traction as a greased up pig shot out of a cannon. So I’m going to have to change up my personal strategy a bit but I have another idea I want to judge the community’s response.

An organized uninstall of Madden for a weekend or something. Combined with a message or a hashtag delivered on social media to all those involved. Content creators would be essential because they would need to be willing to participate by playing a different game for that period. Could be effective and fun. Probably should discuss it elsewhere but I want to hear what people think.

I doubt we could even get five or ten dudes on these forums to agree on any single approach, hence why my personal suggestion was to start small -- asking for a retweet or some type of social media campaign (such as specific hashtag) to hopefully rally around.  Heck, it's been a struggle to even get three dudes together to play some Squads during the week/weekend, so my advice would be to start small, insanely small.

I'd definitely uninstall for a weekend, but it sounds liek a lot of effort -- especially for folks who are potentially digital only and don't necessary have the strongest or fastest internet connection.  Best case scenario, we're probably asking for 1-2 hours of time from people (to uninstall and reinstall) and there's a not-insignificant portion of the player base (such as myself) who are straight up crakkhead level addicted to this bad, broken, buggy ass, inconsistent mess of a game.  My point being... some of us may be powerless to actually turn it off.

Simple uninstall doesn't seem THAT unreasonable of an ask, but i'm merely trying to play devil's advocate here and take in a wide range of potential scenarios for the user base.

How's yer initial impressions of that PS5 Pro?  Santa didn't quite make it this year, but ole Jeffy Bezos finally delivered our new console on JAN02.  I've barely played anything outside of Madden, so i haven't exactly had my socks blown off, but we were desperately in need of an upgrade/replacement, as my OG Disc edition could no longer pump out NBA2K25 at 4K (HDR?) due to constant overheating and random shutdowns.  I need a special Torx screwdriver set to fully take the old one apart.  Played a bit of Spiderman 2, trying to compare the intro sandstorm stuff to the OG version.  Quite a range of settings, which is nice, but i'm never quite sure what my "ideal" setup would be, takes a bit of tuning.  My goal was to actually experience some 120fps games, sadly Madden offers essentially zero upgrades or benefits, at least from what little i can gather or tell.

I’m not particularly attached to the idea. I’m just trying to get a conversation started and social media isn’t a strength of mine. With no expectations anything that comes from it is positive. Even if that is just communication amongst ourselves. I’ll message you later today. Just because I’m up at the ass crack of dawn most days doesn’t mean anyone is.
 

Madden is no diffrent as far as I can tell on the pro. Maybe next year but it’s Nice to be rid of the whine my old system made when i played Madden. Load times and rendering (guess you call it) and graphics are noticeable for sure.

I was referring to the article referenced but in any event, EA did not release their fiscal 24/25 financials yet for the last quarter . The article was referring to the anticipated upcoming financials. 

What you are referring to are the financials from quarter ended 9/30/24 which officially released in October. EA did not yet release live services revenue for the quarter ended 12/31/24, which is the period they are discussing in that article

The AAA gaming spaces bubble is bursting before our eyes.  All those Wall Street and banker types who used peak COVID gaming numbers to forecast out growth over the next ~decade are quickly discovering we will NEVER have those same market conditions again.  At least i sure hope we're not all literally trapped in our homes for a year or two.  That was a dark period, not normal.  But they took the explosive growth as "opportunity" -- which allowed video game budgets to spiral out of control.  Some of these big titles are spending more than feature films, in the hundreds of millions of dollars.  That simply is not sustainable.

I think this is a bad metric because most games make their money through microtransactions. If you notice the top 10 is filled with games who do annual releases. The games that make the most overtime release once every however so often so their sales aren’t super high year over year. Think Fortnite, CS GO, GTA, etc
 

Their stock is down is because people are spending less on EAFC ultimate team which will probably also carry over to Madden, we just have a much smaller piece of a huge pie. Wall Street is forward looking so thats why they reacted so heavily to this news.
