Lamar is the new Peyton Manning

You're probably thinking. What the hell is he talkin about? Well. Who was great in the regular season with multiple MVPs but laid a lot of duds on the playoffs and won only 3 post season games in his first 6 years despite having multiple top 3 teams?

Yes. Lamar Jackson. And Peyton Manning.

He will win more MVPs for sure. But I kinda doubt he will win a SB. Maybe one. But he should have multiple SBs already.

Here's the thing about Peyton. Yes, he laid some absolute DUDS in the postseason. So much so that he hold the record for most playoff losses by an individual player (13). The thing though, is since you can only lose 1 playoff game a year, that means he made the playoffs at least 13 times. Any player would be happy with making the playoffs that many times.

Also, despite what I just said WINS ARE NOT A QB STAT. They are a team stat. Losses can't be blamed entirely on a single player. It just fits the narrative better.

I totally agree about the wins part. That's why I don't think Brady is the goat.

But about the rest you kinda proofed my point. Yes Manning made a lot of trips to the post season. Thus being great in the regular season but he was one and done in the playoffs 9 times. Even when he won the sb. First one 3td 7int in four games. And he played horrible in the second sb run. 2td 1int in three games. 55% and 179 yds/game. Just like Lamar he never played as close as great in the post season compared to the regular season.

Kinda what I was getting at was the whole team has a habit of not showing up to playoff games for a while. Their first playoff loss under Tony Dungy was a 41-0 thumping from the Jets. So yes, Manning played awful, but the whole 2000s Colts teams usually played awful in the playoffs.
