Analysts parse franchise's troubles

EA won't release their full earnings until the afternoon of Tuesday, February 4th... but they are clearly underperforming.  It seems they're trying to get ahead of the news by prereleasing the bad numbers.  The road ahead for EA appears "bumpy" to put it gently.  Everyone seems to be waiting to hear what will be on the release schedule for 2026 and 2027.

INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW.  Do we think they manage to keep an exclusive NFL license, or will the league finally allow some other competitors (Take Two Interactive?) to take a stab.  We spend day after day providing feedback, but they don't give a shit and quite frankly, they don't have the talent or Dev staff/skill to make any meaningful changes within the constraints of the buggy ass Frostbite game engine.  This is what they think of all of us annoying ass video gamers... why won't we just shut the fuck up and give them more money?  Guess we need to be a bit more loud.

What do you mean, they can't ignore us and keep (re)selling us the same basic game, filled with identical bugs and glitches year after year without repercussion? Egad.

Then how are they going to deliver infinite growth to their shareholders? EA Orlando / Tiburon might have to do work.

This dive is during a year when they had the second best selling video game. Not just sports video game, but ALL... second to only Black Ops 6.

I hate to wish for people to lose their jobs, but clearly bad decisions are made in this awful casino for children. We can't even trade players in a trading card game.

It’s almost as if greed and lack of progressiveness has consequence. shame, real shame.

The WSJ article on the stock drop made it clear the #1 issue with EA’s revenue was related to a significant drop in EA FC (formerly FIFA) sales - and they referenced the Ultimate Team aspect of it.  As this group knows better than any, a stale user experience - whether in-game or via the UT program - can lead to disengagement and disenchantment. The question we’ve had (if I may speak for “us” momentarily!) is “how much does this REALLY hurt EA?  Seemingly we got that answer yesterday.

Wait til they lose madden for similar reasons. I know everyone says "soccer is more popular worldwide" maybe. But not in the markets that matter. North america is football first. 

Even asia, would prefer amercian football to soccer. Nobody really cares what sport nepal or afghanistan likes. Ea is gonna be hurting like a drug addict in a holding cell soon. And they have no one but themselves to blame.

It’s been exciting this year to see a potential way towards improvement and redesign and yesterday finally made that clear to everyone. At least those who haven’t been paying close attention like us. I don’t know what will happen but I bet we can influence it.

If we want to be loud NOW is the time. If there was ever an opportunity where this community could change MUT for the better it is NOW!

Yes I’m talking about a spending strike and an EA content strike. While simultaneously appealing to the NFL, NFLPA and OneTeam. Probably better to go over EAs head at this point.

Change is coming. I want to have a say in how that goes. Don’t all of you?

I am down but this site wouldn't put a dent into the amount of money people spend on Madden.  You would need this to go viral through several/all of the major content creators. #maddenspendstrike

Oh no, this is bad news. I feel so bad and guilty, been playing this mode for over a decade and yet to contribute in buying Points. Am I the problem, what can I do to help EA?

You’re right we do need content creators. need to reach out to them. Well I guess what we really need is all the average Joe players to step up.

So with that in mind I can write an email or two. That’s not much of a time commitment to start. Enough people write a couple emails to content creators or message in some other way maybe they take notice. I’m old and emails were the first thing that came to mind.

why does anyone care about EA stock? Do you own any? Do you actually think that correlates to Madden? Please.
