You don't think the trip to the Super Bowl goes thru Philly?

The latter part here misrepresents the truth concerning the offensive term. There are some individuals who are 1) of indigenous heritage, and, 2) who have been fans of the Washington team. Those individuals could hardly be representative of the broader indigenous community that understandably takes offense at the term by which the team was formerly named.
Just because I'm not personally offended by ethnic jokes that denigrate my heritage doesn't mean that everyone else is obligated to be OK with it.
So bottom line: There's political correctness, but there's also things that are absolutely wrong. There's no way a team called 'The [N-word]s' would have been tolerated in the NFL into the 2020's. If someone can't see why Washington's team needed a name change that retroactively recognizes former coaches, players, and staff as of "Washington", they simply don't understand how to see matters from the perspective of others.

Maybe im just jaded and reading too much into things. Either way, i hate this game, AND im mad the easy to root for fun to watch lions are out. No offense. Lol
Dude , go outside and touch some grass . They are called the commanders . Die hard fan since I was a kid and it’s been a tough past 33 years . I was in middle school when we last won in 91’ .
The majority of the fans of this team don’t give two shits about being called the Redskins anymore . We have moved past it and are just enjoying this amazing season and finally have a franchise QB

Thank you. Truer words have never been said.
👏👏👏
Side note, so excited that we have a franchise QB it's unreal to hear every pundit in the world talk highly of our team for a change.
Just call them the redskins already
As a niners fan I hope the commanders win the hole the thing. lions thought they won the Super Bowl after barley beating the niners 😂

"Barely"....yeah right. 40 - 28 is hardly "barely". (oh yeah, a junk TD in the last 3 min got them to 34)
No, once the decimation of their defensive starters hit, the Lions were down to relying on schemes and game plans to get the most out of the defensive talent they had left and managed to pull out victories, we were thrilled they got this far. It was amazing and of course we hoped we were in for an historic ride, but the play-offs are for the best of the best and injuries to so many key players didn't keep them in that category.
Personally, I'm merely disappointed at the season's end and any anger is aimed at the fickle finger of fate.

Nah your qb just laid an egg. How can you blame the defense when the offense turned it over more than 4 times?
For not stopping Washingtons offense. We scored enough to win most games with a bad outting from Goff.

🤣🫡 wow the dedication to being a commanders fan is insane. Like Im a Steelers fan and I RAGE every season when we don’t win the Super Bowl. But then there’s the jets, commanders, raiders fans that still support/cheer for their team season after season. Absolute respect
SquishySoldier21 said:The literal deacendants of the giy the logo was modeled after have repeatedly say they want it back. Thats not the issue. If the patriots changed their name tomorrow (for any reason) id call them the patriots still. Because im not even as old as him, but im old enough, and no one will tell me what to think or say. Lol
Guys none of you have any say about what they call a team. So just roll with it and move on in life. You’ll be way happier not giving a crap trust be
As a fellow washington theme teamer, (also run lions rip and considering eagles, double rip) i fear we’ll see another useless card lol. RT, RG, ROLB so far watch us get a DT

Depending on how you define "Franchise QB", Washington had one in 2018, but a certain guard couldn't block J.J. Watt. Smith almost got Washington a post-season win in 2020 after digging the team out of a 2-6 hole left by Haskins and Allen, and then getting the team to the post-season with a week 17 win after Haskins had led the team to yet two more losses.
Unfortunately, there was just nothing left of Smith physically, and Heinicke got the start in the playoffs. Which was like losing out of the gate.
So four years later Washington has Daniels, and while it's a bummer that the team lost most of six years of being competitive due to bad interior offensive linemen and Rivera's awful personnel decisions, it's nice to see Washington fans finally enjoying the post-season.

Interesting as we still have the KC Chiefs that have a Native American chant with a tomahawk chop.
As a Giants fan, i like Daniels and i wish we would have drafted him over Nabers. You win with QBs, Olines and Dlines in this league and Giants have absolutely none of that.
As for the Washington team name, does it matter? Older fans will call them the Redskins since they grew up calling them that and younger fans will call them the Commanders but either side shouldn't call the other side out because of it. Just because something doesn't bother you doesn't mean that it doesn't bother the next person. Things change and the world changes. Who gives a shit about the name?
