Easy. You can have a lot of coins and grind as if you had none. You just can’t do the opposite.

Either you need top-end players, or you don't. If you need top-end players at any position, you need top-end players. I wasn't really arguing any point other than that you ultimately have to earn a lot of coins to keep up, because you'll spend a lot on today's top-end receivers and cornerbacks, and guess what? Next week, you'll be doing it all over again.
You don't get to disregard MCS players, because they are playing games on the same servers I am. There are evidently thousands of players chasing that dream, spending hundreds of dollars a year because they think they are almost there, and just need to be on par. So I don't really have a chance to compete in Gauntlet or Ranked. At least, not without a lot of coins.
In fact, the one area where I would argue that you could win games on a strict budget would be House Rules. You'll come across a lot of players with stacked teams, but you'll also see a lot of people with ordinary teams, for the simple reason that there's often little reason to continue playing House Rules when you've already received the highest tier of reward. The owners with the best lineups get their wins early and move on. So, yay, I get to play about a quarter of head-to-head modes and feel competitive without spending a dime.
Well it's about that most people don't understand how this game functions. That it's badly coded and about abilities first. Stats don't matter nearly as much as you think. It's extremely inconsistent and random at times. It's about superwins as it is called and not consistency from a stat level.
But you do you and I prove myself right every year without spending much money or time in the auction house. If u feel u need the best players well then do it. I don't need it and for me the grinding part is the fun part. As it is in life. I used to spend a lot of money on this game. But it's not only unneccessary for me it's less fun. Cuz playin it just to win is boring to me. I need that incentive to grind for something to improve my team.

Depends on who you are. Some people don't need money to enjoy their life. On the other hand, some people are extremely superficial and need external stimuli in order to get satisfaction out of life.

Huh? This felt very philosophical, and went completely off-topic. MUT is one of many “external stimuli” whether you accumulate few coins or many.
And while contentment is one thing, being mentally stimulated is quite another. A lack of external stimuli over time will cause brain and psychological dysfunction, so even outside of the context of MUT, this wasn’t particularly accurate.

All i said was saying a lot of coins is bad is like saying a lot of money is bad and this guy went on a whole rant and life lesson for some reason.

Coins in MUT will affect your MUT experience more consistently than cash in life will help. At a certain point, you don’t need more money to significantly improve your life. More is more in MUT.

I play very casually and offline. Maybe 2-3 games a day to complete my daily objectives and I move on.
I have plenty of other hobbies and interests. I just have a preferred way to manage my team.
you said you play casually but have millions of coins just sitting in your binder and 2 theme teams, doesn’t add up, doesn’t seem casual. Manage your team however you want I personally just think it’s pointless to treat the game so seriously if its not your job, like who you tryna impress if it’s not viewers.
I have a modest amount of coins compared to the community (3.6 million). I see some of you sitting on 20-30 million coins. I have a 94 overall team. I like having a coin stack that allows me to buy any champion card I want If I need to upgrade. I try to keep a 1-2 million coin threshold at all times to balance my spending out so I don't splurge on LTDs at all. I might buy a $25 offer everyone once in a while if its a good value.

I will clarify - I have one team but multiple lineups. There is much crossover of cards between lineups. I do this because I find switching to pre-configured lineups depending on what I am trying to accomplish is easier. Plus, since I really only play offline, switching lineups adds variety and can make certain games slightly more challenging. As I've said, I play just a couple of games a day so the faster I can get in and out, the better.
As for the amount of coins I have, it's easy to amass coins when not chasing the latest/greatest shiny new toy.
Finally, I'm not trying to impress anyone. I was simply sharing my approach as it relates to the topic of the thread.
I play the game and manage my team the way I enjoy. If you and/or anyone else does things differently then more power to you.

I get it.
I have two accounts. One account I have my competitive/theme team. Im usually around 3-4 mil. Not a crazy amount, but still able to do pretty much whatever I want and get whoever I want.
Then I have an account where I only use players I get in packs/sets/ect. I don't touch the auction house at all.
I have more fun with that team, just grinding everything out and seeing what I get. All luck of the draw.
Always seems to get luckier on this account as well.
This is my second year doing MUT. I don’t have as much time to grind like I did last year, so I’m spending minimally to stack coins for players and promos I care about.
I dropped 2.5mil on Zero Chill. Ripping presents was a blast and I ended up with Dexter Lawrence, Kittle, and Nabers, who will probably be end game for my TT unless they get upgrades/golden tickets.
