Madden Pros that are in the Rookie Division - is this fun for you?!

I will caveat this post by saying: I can't explain why I suck so much at MUT 25, no matter how hard I try, so I'm going to go off on a little rant here!

Hey Madden Pros - you guys just absolutely kick butt at this game, I have a question for you. Do you enjoy beating up on weak players in the Rookie division? Wouldn't you rather hang in Veteran and Legend, or is that just too hard for you. Does it make you feel better to know that you'll always be playing a completely inferior opponent? And then go ahead and just keep tossing the ball deep to Calvin Johnson and watch him make ridiculous catches when he is double teamed. 

And to EA - how is it that 50% of all players are in Rookie? Isn't it time to split things up into more divisions? 

I just don't get it...

It depends.  The game is such a buggy-ass, inconsistent mess, there's so many random disconnects that it's been nearly impossible for me to ever remain in Legends tier.  Got demoted to Veteran just last evening and one of my squads mates was sent all the way back to Rookie due to the sheer volume of disconnects that ultimately turn into immediate losses.

All that whining and crying aside, i'm finally back into Legends tier for Squads play, despite the ongoing hassle and perpetual issues, especially with the login/game servers.  We even managed to win a close one to secure the Superbowl dub late last evening, had an absolute blast.

And to address your prior question -- it depends.  There is a not insignificant portion of people that are content beating up on weaker opponents.  Take Snoop Dogg, for example, that guy is roaming around in early MUT with his maxed out special cards.  He's certainly not interested in fair, nor competitive gameplay.  For me, personally -- i want to keep getting better, which means playing against stiff competition.  Match-making is complete and total shite.  Rarely makes sense, even in true Ranked play, i've been paired up with dudes who are WELL outside of my range, or tier.

not necessarily, seen people in champ/top100 (3200rp) with less than 50% win rate. so you can be an overall loser in this game and still be top rank.

Matchmaking is not limited to division ranking. you can get demoted or promoted and then instantly match up with the same person who put you there. This has happened to me before so can confirm

Matchmaking makes no sense to me anymore.  I can’t figure it out and think EA wants to keep it a secret.

just quit if u will lose badly.  u dont need to get upset.  if you keep quitting you'll get a matchup that suits you

I played Mutmas mode up until 1 day before ranked season ends

I had all 93 Zero Chill/Ghosts, but started in low bronze for ranked and definitely played some very weak teams

It is pretty ridiculous that Division II squads match up against NFL playoff teams.

I did not know that you played opponents outside your division. That's absolutely preposterous. I can understand consensual inter-divisional matchmaking when the delay after trying to find an opponent becomes excessive, but I could swear I've matched up against A-class lineups when I should be coasting back into Veteran after being cheesed out of it.

Last year, I was in the teir below legend and got matched up with a guy in rookie. He was really chill about it, and i even said sorry for going so hard on him, but unfortunately it was my Super Bowl so I couldn’t give that up.

Hey man, saw your rant and wanted to help. This game is a disgrace to actual football. Don't beat yourself up. The "pros" did not invent or pioneer anything. They are all copycats, some with such a small deviation/their own little twist that it would still be considered plagiarism. Your best bet to counter this cowardly gameplay? Cheese it.
