Do playoff bound teams tend to make for better theme teams with content focused around those teams.
Curious if a team like the Raiders who didn't make the playoffs will still get all the legends making them one of the better theme teams every year as opposed to a team like the Chiefs who you expect to go deeper in to the playoffs.
No one knows for sure....
The playoff teams usually get decent playoff cards.
The Super Bowl teams normally get good Super Bowl cards.
But EA usually has Super Bowl Past Players, so many of the Theme Teams not represented in this year's Super Bowl will get good players.
A team like the Raiders normally has enough good theme team cards to be competitive. There are a lot of other promotions that will happen through the end of the season (Legends, Ultimate Legends, More AKA, Game Changers, Grid Iron Guardians, Sugar Rush, Ring of Honor, Free Agency, Wild Cards, Draft, Season Awards, etc.), and the Raiders have a history of adding great players near end of their career like Moss, Rice, Sapp, Dickerson, Lofton, Woodson, etc.
Last years playoff promo was great as it only included active players on active teams in the playoffs. Even as a Raider fan I think this is the right thing to do to reward those fanbases for successful years. Playoff promo will be terrible imo if they do what they’ve done every other year by just throwing in a bunch of random legends who had one good playoff game in the past. I prefer the current happenings of the NFL compared to the past.

I agree with this 100%. I am currently running a 49ers Theme Team, not because I am a 49ers fan, but because I already had a QB, HB, WRx2, and multiple Defensive players that fit that TT. Now that they are eliminated from the Playoffs, I am strongly considering going back to the Chiefs Theme Team that I run most of the time, just because I expect them to make a deep run in the playoffs again, meaning lots of Theme Team cards. Currently, there are a lot of holes in the Chiefs Theme Team, and they have had a lot of LTD's this year as well, so I am still undecided.
If you recall, last year they did a Playoff and Super Bowl promo theme team that became the META as opposed to team-based theme teams. This year, they've given promo boosts - Gridiron Guardians, Zero Chill, Most Feared - so they may take that approach once again. If that's the case, you're best served having a TT of teams that will make the playoffs.
Lions and Ravens should make a deep push in to the playoffs and they also dominated the pro bowl selections. Should be two of the best TT you would think and both Calvin Johnson cards should carry over from ZC and hold value for a while.
Chiefs as well I would think.
