The strong responses you've seen from users here over this trailing ones issue belies an underlying trauma for the times we've clicked Buy Now moments before we realized we've just parted with millions of coins because a knucklehead EA programmer for the Madden Companion App didn't bother to insert thousands commas in the output from the server lookups for pricing, and this oversight was exploited with malicious intent.
It's an unprosecutable form of fraud, plain and simple.

EA bots will see any sale that’s 4x what the market is as a manipulation effort. Would it happen on an 80 OVR? Of course not. So couple a 4x of market with a 4.1m price and you’ll get a ban accusation.
Now, why is this a signal of coin distribution? Because 1) an LTD is the highest value card category that allows a coin buyer to acquire coins with minimal transaction activity and 2) coin sellers can resell that card to recoup the lost coins. Does it guarantee that’s what happened? Of course not. But bots don’t think, they act on fact patterns. The OP’s 4111111 price was more likely an attempt to trick buyers rather than buy coins, but stupidity, greed, and BS often result in the same penalties.
Craziest thing is the ability EA has to ban players with no real evidence. Shameful the community would support that.

If two parties agree to a transaction under terms clearly understood by both, I have no objection to it.
That's not what happens with these "4111111"-type transactions. It's never an issue with "4,111,111" or "4.1M".

I don't disagree with your sentiments here, but the questions are 1) what is coin selling/buying evidence, and 2) what is unethical market participation evidence? For #1, you'd need to have access to bank/credit card records of the counterparties (that's not happening). For #2, they do have some evidence - and they use it - in cases where certain transactions occur between the same IP addresses over and over. That's why they killed the trade market. But for the #2 that many in this thread have commented on, namely, the "4111111" problem, how can you confirm that other that, other than the fact that just about everyone who's bought regularly on the Madden Companion App thinks this is a problem/trick that confuses even the most aware players.
It's not my goal to absolve EA from their fault in all of this. The best tool they have to shut down coin selling is to go after the sellers that do so constantly. Hell, many of them advertise on EA streams! But at the same time, we need to be realistic - the Auction House plays into the worst of the community's instincts, and attracts bad faith participants like flies to horse dung. Many of us have been around long enough to know not just who those kinds of people are, but the standard "woe is me!" responses they give on this site and those before it. I'd feel differently if it was kids/teens. But in most cases, it's adults. And it's pathetic.

I’ve read through this entire thread . I still don’t think the OP ever addressed the 4111111 issue at all . Like why actually post all those ones . In the game , the AH will default to even numbers , like 4,200,750 . From my experience, I can only put in random numbers like all 1111111 in the companion app . Given the fact the the OP hasn’t addressed the issue of why he choose 41111111, instead of 4,100,000 it’s obvious to me he’s a scumbag that was trying to exploit the companion app bug.

1. coin buying and selling should be legal, its only illegial because it doesn't add to EA's profits.
2. Unless you are actually some how hacking the game their is no unethical participation, only bad programming on EA's part.

Clearly it was unintentional, but their automated ban system detects sudden price jumps and will ban the user who bought and who sold as it appears to the system as coin distribution. It sucks, but that is how the coin farmers have been buying/selling coins for years.

You're arguing on the basis of EA's incompetence. Do you blame the large companies for data thefts when it's the freaking criminals that hacked the database and stole your brother's aunt's sister's son's money from your checking account using your social security number and a fake ID?

This isnt a data breach, this wasnt a hack, this is simply an individual putting a price on a card and another person purchasing that card.
