my team is an 89 ovr rn and I've been thinking about buying some 90's and 91's to fill in slots but to keep my coin stack above 1 million. its at 1.5mil rn. Is this a good idea or keep building the coin stack and buy the cards later
Always build the coin stack.
I try to set benchmarks for myself during the year (never let the stack get below 500k, then 1 million, then 2 million, etc.). You don't NEED the best new cards in the game right when they come out. There are also so many good BNDs right now that you can field a really competitive team without spending any coins.
I've been sitting on a team of BNDs and LTD investments and have really enjoyed playing the new draft mode. It is a really easy way to stack snow which you can use on studs to improve your team (Stocking Stuffer upgrade, Zero Chill BND, upgrading Njoku and Sweat).
I would try to save as much as possible until Christmas and then go nuts. All the Zero Chill cards including the 90s are extremely powerful.

So much this ^^^^, bnd and ltds at a rental price. I buy them at 410-420, try and use for around a month and take the 50k hit.

It's a long year, coins are and will regain king. The more you can acquire, the better. Typically Rookie Premiers end up costing somewhere between 15-20M coins to do all the sets.
That being said, if you can find some Zero Chill budget beasts, I think you can absolutely put together a truly competitive squad without breaking the bank.
Make sure you put both Njoku & Montez Sweat into your lineup. It'll grant ALL Zero Chill players +2 to every stat, including speed. Go bonkers, these are really really good cards (until January 9th).

This is a great theory and strategy. A little late to sell off your team right now, but could totally grind MUT Draft for the foreseeable future and not have to spend a single coin.
