So this is the first year I have really grinded MUT and I’m loving it. I’m also doing no money spent. I have been following YouTubers on how to do this efficiently and noticed that they tell you to only buy players at cheap and great prices and to save all your coin. My question is what’s the point of saving all your coin Instead of using it to better your team now? Is the idea so that when the final and really good cards release you then start spending the coin? What’s the point in saving your coin, why not spend it now?
MUT Rule #1, ignore all youtubers

lol, appreciate the advice but the goal is to have a no money spent 99 overall team. There must be a reason why the YouTubers are saving their coin. If it’s to spend it all later on the best players I’m cool with that, just curious if anyone knows why save as opposed to spend?

buy who you want, there are always a million ways to make more coins
just remember unless you are a pro you can wait a week after a card comes out and it will play the same for much less
ltds not included lol
My reasoning is..........
There is always going to be better players released until we get to 99 OVR cards. Plain and simple. It is not worth spending your whole stack of coins for one player that will get passed up by a new release that is better in just a couple weeks.
Rookie Premiers help when starting a new year of Madden. Rookie Premiers are very expensive. If you think you have enough saved, you need to keep on saving to be prepared. There are a lot of people that have a lot of coins. Some people play this game for a living. It seems like EA is attempting to make these more difficult to obtain.
My last reason is that I want certain players on my team. I am a Steeler fan. I want a theme team of Steelers and a few other greats that I admire. I am not willing to spend coins on a slightly upgraded player that I do not care to have on my team in this game.
I do not play competitively for money. If you play competitively, there is a need to have all of the best players with all of the best attributes and abilities and X-Factors.
Little piece of advice I'll give you from my experience at the time (mut 18 was my first serious one). You can save save save but there's always a tomorrow. Whatever cards you don't want to buy now and save there'll be new ones next week and the week after and the week after etc etc. What ends up happening is you're sat there come April with about 6 million in the bank and nothing to buy. Secondly, and this is the real killer, mut season (Feb onwards) sucks pickled eggs unless you're a really hardcore player. All the casuals are gone and you're left with the weekend league warriors who know every cheese play and it's just cheese on cheese on cheese every game. Every squads game (if you play that) finishes about 3-0 because you can't pick apart 3 decent users with 99 speed and lurker.
That being said here I am now saying 'I'm not paying that price for that' on x and y card and I've got about 6 million in the bank so I'm not even taking my own advice.
I'll close by saying I learnt a long time ago that these game modes are about the journey not the destination, once you hit your end game team VERY few people play longer than a week before they go off to find another boulder to push up a hill as there's nothing left to accomplish so whilst yes, your end goal might be X, you'll have far more fun along the way than when you get there. Hope that helps in some way
Read patterns, the market is alive. Observe and hypothesize when dips will occur to save coins, analyze results and revise process. Same with spikes, find opportunities to sell for profit and buy back on next dip. Only hold bought cards if playing h2h, sell when you’re just grinding solo. Read patterns, the market is alive.
