The original poster asked what the overall of the CMC was that you get for pre-ordering the game.
He did not ask what the core elite CMC is. Two different things.
So no I don’t think EA is wrong. I think you are wrong. Or at the very least didn’t read the question thoroughly.

No clue, but i doubt it will be anywhere near as good as the Day 1 Core Elite halfbacks (CMC is 84 OVR). HOWEVER, that OVR rating means nothing. They could (but probably won't) release an 82 OVR that is better than many of the 83-84s dropping next week.
Time will tell. Can anyone with better vision than me make out the numbers here? Resolution is too poor for me to blow it up. Let's say it will be an 83 OVR, but i really have no idea. A slightly nerfed version of the real deal is my best guess, but that is an extremely optimistic way to approach this. EA rarely gives away anything good, for free. Even BND rewards are typically shite.

I saw a Youtuber that said 84, and specificed it was the pre-order CMC. So no, I read the question - just had bad information. My bad.
