The best way to "save up" coins, is simply to not spend them. As far as earning coins, there are about a dozen threads on this subject on just the last few pages alone. The thing is, it's really hard to give someone specific methods without knowing what kind of coin stack you're working with. But the most basic is building sets. Find a player that is selling well on a consistent basis, and find ways to build the set cheaper. Depending on your available coins, this could be an Aiden Hutchinson Division Dynasty or Justin Tucker Weekly Wildcard...or it could be something lower like a couple cards in the Playoffs or NFL Combine sets...all the way down to using golds to make playbooks. 

There is also the option of looking for snipes on the AH to resell - but with so many people selling off cards to prep for RP, you have to be careful. It's possible to get some good snipes, but then not finding anyone wanting to buy.
