I don’t know if it’s just me, but has anyone recently come across an influx in players blitzing? More specifically FS type blitzes?

I’m quite often finding myself coming against players who are abusing this and sometimes they catch me out, but I will literally have less than a second before I’m sacked. I’ll just find my O line allowing the FS to slip through with ease, despite making adjustments etc. I just end up backing out of these games because I don't really have too much fun just playing checkdowns most plays. Just for context I do have a great O line who all have secure protector.

It would be interesting to see if any of the guys have encountered this! :)

Are you going up against man or zone blitzers?

The majority of the time it’s zone blitzes. From what I’ve noticed the majority of the plays come from the 3-3 odd formation. I haven’t actually played around with it myself or know too much about it, but does this happen to be a ‘meta’ so to speak against shotgun offense?

Oh I run that occasionally and it can be a very effective a-gap blitz, if they are sending 5 or 4. You typically to have to block your rb if you want to stay in shot gone offense, and slide your protection. That also being said, that blitz does take some time to set up, so I would also recommend coming out in a play that you can quick snap. It wont work every time but you will catch your opponent off guard at times which will result in chunk plays.

I usually just block the rb in my scheme, except for a handful of plays but I will definitely try out sliding the protection so thank you!

I just found it a bit strange that the majority of games I am playing at the moment typically consists of this blitz. I'm not really into watching streamer or content creators so I wasn't sure if maybe someone with a substantial following had maybe released some content on a meta blitz to run lmao. At the same time I was also thinking maybe people are just blitzing to counter omaha to give less time for the qb to get the ideal medium/deep pass off.

Henry won the madden championship with his 3-3 odd defense, so it was only a matter of time till some people started using it.

I also like to mix in 3-3 odd as a 3rd/4rth and long coverage and do not like to blitz from it, because you can run the tampa 3 shell out of it and as long as you have a colossus and another colossus/UF, you can get pressure by just sending the four rushers on the line.
