i tried SFL, it doesnt seem too apparent during normal gameplay but when u need those playmaker moments it really helps.
94 CA Vick w SFL was nice for me, just got rid of him after winning a bowl w him, my KOs feast on QBs without SFL, have had so many crazy pics from my KOs simply because the ball doesn't get there fast enough without it, I'd be interested to see win rates of people saying they don't need/want it...

What was the point of them increasing AP on offense if they upped the price of SFL to FIVE AP?
Went to line-up to throw another ability on offense yesterday and it said I was already at 8. And 7 of it was being used on Will Levis. -_-
My passing offense turns into bubbles and short checkdowns without it. It’s definitely for passers. If you run 50% of the time that 5AP is best spent elsewhere.

doesn't seem like a big change but they're starting to release discounted SFL so it will end up being a net positive, and it really helps people who don't want SFL

Yeah but they basically nerfed all of the other QBs which IMO is kinda bullshit.
So I am a biiiiig HRM user. I used the 93 Vick and although he's good but I still find myself going back to Dan the Man. Reason is because I can run HRM and the X factor SFL. You can fit passes into way tighter holes with SFL and the with the defensive AP going up, the margin of error on offense has gotten smaller. Ill have to use Marino until I get another option that can run both. To answer your question: It makes a difference but if you can manage without it good on you.

Tbh, no. I don’t even use SFL normally, even if it was 1 ap. When your throwing SFL makes u throw completely straight. The passes are faster but the problem i find with that is when I throw a corner to my WR, it makes it much easier for the defender to jump up and catch it. Without SFL it’s not in a defenders range so they can’t get that pick. If you run lots of slants or short in or out routes, SFL is Great. But if you throw the ball deep, WATCH OUT!!! The amount if time iv’e been picked deep because of SFL is crazy. IMO most OVER RATED ability ever.
Is it the same for Next-Gen & old-gen?
Is it a necessary ability for someone like me? I rarely play H2H games. Like very rarely I just like to play the challenges and the solo battles etc plus I got the game only in November so I have plenty of challenges to keep me busy. Is it more of a ability that helps those who are playing competitive predominantly or would it make completing other things like solo challenges and battles easier? I don't have it now as I'm using the top Aaron Rodgers card that's out but I will be switching to the new playoff Jordan Love probably as soon as I get home and content is released

If you just doing challenges, you don't need it, it is more of a competitive ability, for you, just use Gunslinger, and maybe HRM(Hot route master), depending on how you play, but SFL is more meant for comp players
Depends on your play style/skill level. SFL is not a necessity, I use Vick without any abilities currently (sold patty about a week ago). He throws fine even against sweats with multiple KO’s. I free form 90% of my passes. It’s all preference.

I don't doubt that may be true for some places you're trying to throw to and how you throw it, but I throw mid-deep majority of my throws and its much tougher for defenders to close in w/SFL. I do love hrm but a Rb apprentice + te apprentice or 2 gets the job done

I put hrm and sfl on love and couldn’t hit my corners anymore. Took off sfl and put gs on and it was better. Idk. The balls just seemed slower and lower height to be picked off. If we had 1 more AP gs, hrm, sfl I’d probably be singjng sfl leads praises.
I have used sfl and gs and the ball whips l, the hrm sfl combo doesnt work for me
