Ya, they use playoff OT rules in madden. Even if you score a TD, the other team gets a chance to possess the ball.

They use the college playoffs OT rule where both teams start from the 25

Weird cause I’ve had it end when my opponent scored first commentary even says first to score TD wins

Unfortunately, we can rarely trust the in-game information.  It's often old/outdated or downright inaccurate.  EA gonna EA, after all.  Uggh.  Because all video games require a player to do homework outside of the game to understand the basics... that makes sense, right?
