I quite literally the worst player at madden. I feel like my team should be able to beat people I'm a 88 overall and i cant seem to score on offense or get stops on defense. I have deep route ko on champ bailey and he hasnt gotten a single knock out yet just constant touchdowns from my opponents. When i run man and match by speed and Derrell Revis gets burned by Travis Kelce. When I'm running zone i run 30-25 on my flats and 5 on my hook curls and it can get stops. If anyone has some schemes I can use or any kinds of tips.
Once you understand how defenses work, and being able to read coverage pre snap and post snap, your game will elevate. I recommend using the skills trainer in game and learn the zone coverages. Learn what type of routes beat certain types of coverages. Also with your man matchups, there is a lot of new animations this year that allow receivers to beat press and man in general. Your opponent usually shows what type of plays they like to run, shade your corners outside if you're getting beat on corner routes. That will open you up to crossers so you have to user the middle more diligently. If you see your opponent in dime that's a terrible matchup against run plays. Keep running it until you make them switch it up. You have to establish a ground game in order to move the ball through the air. If your opponent KNOWS you arent going to run it they can pass commit every play and its cooked. Find a playbook that suits your playstyle.

Bro I feel your pain. I'm an 88 as well. I'm currently trying so combo coverage but it always seems to leave a massive hole in my defense. Anyone else have thoughts me and my brotha. I can beat kids with no brain, but good, mindful players just tear me apart.

Ok thanks for advice, I'm trying to avoid hours in practice mode and I'm realizing it's not possible if you want to be good. My one thing is pre-snap reads, if your opponent base aligns, pre-snap reads are pointless unless if there is a way to read pre-snap base align coverage then let me know!!!

you could motion a receiver to see if the corner follows. Use motion whenever you can it confuses the defense, even if you’re running the ball.
