How do I get kick returns to work

I just lost a terrible game because my opponent was able to return two kicks for touchdowns with a 84 kadarious toney and LTD cromartie had open lanes but was blocked by the blocker therefor costing me two touchdowns. What should I do?

Also how do I get my defenders to want to tackle the tight end because 3 guys went at him and he didnt truck or anything and broke through for a td, and this was like 82 goedert or something.
